May 7th. Tower One couloir. Dropping into flow on the edge of control. Im grateful to have ridden one of my favorite lines of my life thus far with @nomadikmax Huge respect to him for motivating and sharing the boot pack on this one.
This was day 7 of a 10 day split-boarding loop. Being 20 miles into the wilderness makes an experience like this even more rewarding. The shear size of the granite towers are immense and rise like skyscrapers. A thin ribbon of snow stuck between the walls. A truly awe inspiring feature, it was honor to spend a little time in the heart of this mountain.🙏🏻
Alpine Lakes Wilderness surf session with @kylelhk -Marketing and Business Development lead at @karakorambc and all around awesome human. Grateful to travel this part of the range via gliding on board. Reaching the alpine havens comes at a cost with nearly a hundred logs crossed and 9 miles of boot packing dirt and snow before skinning. But the journey was pleasantly contrasted by the towering presence of old growth Yellow Cedar and the crystal clear waters of the Foss River. Feb 10th-12th
Feb 6th. I went out exploring to the Husband during the finals days of the January dry spell. To my delight there was faceted pow in the shadows and a creamy mix in the sun. It’s always a pleasure to have stable snow and weather for poking around new zones in the backyard.
February 3rd. When @mtbachelor records two inches on the snow stake… a little off shore wind and some orographic lift on the local big wave break goes a long way. Feeling grateful when the stars align for a free-ride dream line in the backyard. Thanks for the awesome day @sader_tooth
Really grateful to ride some laps on the local big cone lately. This mountain is just so fun. Surfy waves from top to bottom, just simply fun snowboarding.
Little Boarder in a Big World. Despite record low snow pack and persistent high pressure the Cascades have been consistently providing soft turns and opportunities for soul expression. I find you just gotta enter the mountains with an open heart and a discerning eye. Gratitude and persistence goes a long way in times like this.
January 26th. 🤳 @yungmoptop
Searching for cold snow and aged powder in the midst of the drought. Found some beautiful waves punctuated by pinnacles and finished the day soaking in hot springs straight from the source below this Volcano 🌋 🙏🏻🌊🤙 January 23rd
January 18th and 19th. 2 weeks since it last snowed, and 31% of average snowpack in the basin. The silver lining has been stable weather and snowpack for touring. We’re still finding cold snow preserved on the shaded aspects despite alarmingly warm mid winter temperatures in the 50s at 7000ft. But unfortunately this is a window into the future of snow riding due to climate change. We still have time to act and ensure a stable climate for future generations. We can do this with our actions, are buying power and who we elect into office. We need real cultural and community driven action and we need climate/environmental advocates in power. Peace and love and pray for snow🙏🏻❄️🌊
