Our Kelly family home where Redfish pass exists today. No name hurricane of 1921. Can only imagine what that was like but also dreaming about what the tarpon fishing was like too. #borninthewrongdecade
* In October 1921, a powerful hurricane struck Southwest Florida.
* At the time, storms weren’t given names, so it’s just known by the year/location.
* The storm surge and wave action literally split one continuous barrier island into two—creating: * Sanibel Island (south) * Captiva Island (north)
* The cut that formed between them became Redfish Pass.

Jenn & Bear, and their team pulled off another incredible fundraising event, doing the unimaginable! Things like grilling on a sandbar in a foot of water!
So many amazing people came down and put on a show, cooking and fishing, raising money for a great cause. Incredible sponsors stepped up. No shortage of heart and hard work .
Thank you @yeti for putting this team together. Bringing a couple of captains and chefs together. Spending 4 days on the water and by the fire, we left knowing how much we have in common. Curious by nature, always looking for the next tight line or that crackle of the fire. This was a meaningful weekend and I returned home inspired. Thank you my friends.

My grandfather had quite the sense of humor, was a hell of a snook fisherman, and owned the first Bakery and Convenience store on Bonita Beach.
