You don’t realize how much you appreciate the basics
until they’re gone for a while.
A proper hot shower that lasts more than 7 minutes.
Washing my hair slowly… then rinsing it again just because I can.
Not worrying about someone barging in mid-shampoo because there are no doors on the stalls.
A quiet room without the constant sound of grinders and sanders.
Letting the water run without thinking about tank levels.
After living in the chaos of a 3-year refit,
these rest days aren’t just nice… they’re necessary.
For the first time in 36 years…
My body decided it was apparently time for me to finally start dealing with spring allergies 🌸🤧 🤨
Yea that’s the universe telling me I’m allergic to land . Definitely time to trade the land life back to sea life soon!
To say I will miss you is such an understatement. You lived 100 years in this world, and I was lucky enough to witness 36 of them.
I can only imagine the incredible journey you experienced, the history you saw unfold, and the strength and wisdom you carried through it all. Your life was long, full, and so meaningful.
Thank you for being my grandma, than you for your love, for never judging my crazy ideas, for always supporting my passions, for teaching me how to play Bezig, for schooling me in scrabble, for all of your stories, and for the amazing ways you shaped who I am.
You’re in the arms of my mom now, and reunited with all the friends and family who were waiting for you on the other side. And I know you will continue to be with me, wherever I go.
❤️
One of the main reasons I absolutely love living in this truck is that it doesn’t really matter where we are. whether it’s parked near the sea or tucked up in the mountains, it never feels out of the ordinary.
It never feels like we’re stepping away from our “real life” or packing up for something completely different. Waking up surrounded by nature, closing the rooftop tent, cooking outside, taking a quick cold shower from our DIY gravity bag. it all just feels… normal.
My kind of normal.
There’s something so grounding about having everything we need within arm’s reach. No matter where we wake up, life keeps the same rhythm, simple, slow, intentional.
And maybe that’s the best part of it all… That our home is never tied to a single place.
It’s the same feeling we get on the boat. The same rhythm of simplicity, of adjusting to the wind or the weather, of carrying our whole life with us.
⏱️Finally developed my photos using my new self-timer mechanical shutter release.
Part of me was worried I hadn’t set it up correctly and I was convinced that the whole roll would come back completely black…. 🫣 There’s something so fun and exciting about waiting three weeks to develop a roll and then discovering everything actually worked. That feeling is why I love film.
