The making of āThe WOW! Signal Meteorite Necklaceā, crafted for @mattbellamy of @muse
Designed in collaboration with Museās stylist @styledbycristina
and inspired by Museās latest album
From hand sketch to stage performance, a modern relic is formed.
A 4.6 billion-year-old meteorite was personally sourced, with a fragment chosen for its natural shape, echoing the expanding signal of deep space.
The iron meteorite is carefully cleaned, revealing its raw surface beneath years of oxidation.
Initial sketches map the outer casing, while the underside is cut out with the number-letter sequence of the mysterious āWow! Signalā.
Using CAD, a bespoke setting is sculpted precisely to the stoneās form, held in place by claw tips set with black diamonds.
The piece is cast in recycled sterling silver, hand finished, and set before being placed into its final casing.
It made its debut on stage at Brixton Academy, worn by Matt
