You can never know exactly what to expect with a @site_seen_arts project, but it will certainly be a wild one-night ride involving interesting art, inspiring and also friendly artists, crazy energy, unconventional spaces, and the confident, transformative vision of @jen.miller.art and @atelierwdstk_hudsonvalley . I got to hang out with old friends and new—AND as a very special bonus surprise, freshman dorm mate @spratap_on_insta whom I hadn’t seen in years!
Thank you all for a truly wonderful evening. I’m so honored to have been a part of it.
Great outdoor drawing workshop—thank you @thesneakyartist and @nycurbansketchers ! I’m trying to learn to simplify, capture the basics faster, and also to feel more comfortable drawing out in the world.
ONE NIGHT ONLY!
OF GRIT AND GRID, a Site Seen exhibition!
Saturday, May 2, 6-9 pm. Please come! Site Seen shows are more like parties, they need to be experienced.
The Site Seen curators do not use traditional wall labels in their shows. Instead, they use videos, featuring the artist’s voice, process, and work. Every artwork and installation will have its own tap point placed directly beside it, and, in addition, process videos will be playing on screens throughout the space.
“The idea is simple: the work is carried through its maker. The narrative is more direct, less filtered, and remains closer to its source.”
Here I am mid-sentence talking about my piece, “She Kept You Just In Case,” in my video. For someone who likes to try to hide behind her work, being unfiltered is a little scary. Come to Williamsburg if you want to see the video, as well as the piece itself!

Rainy day play: found some ancient dried-up watercolors, cut the bottoms off of the tubes and scraped some out. Turns out a little goes a long way.

Happening May 2!
I’m thrilled to be part of this one-night-only show—thanks so much @site_seen_arts@jen.miller.art@atelierwdstk_hudsonvalley for your crazy amazing vision and energy!
“Site Seen is an artist-led initiative run by two curators, Aleksandra Scepanovic and Jen Miller. They are two friends who would always rather see art in a raw abandoned space than a white-wall gallery. They find forgotten spaces, invite artists, and build a new story inside them with a one night, pop-up art show.”
