A retreat day at the farm can feel softer from the moment it begins.
A time just for you. A different rhythm.
At Casa Portal in Maine, you wake slowly, step into the morning light, and let the day unfold from there.
This Creative Arts Retreat is guided by Natalie Davis of CanoeGoods and Maura Ambrose of Folk Fibers. They both have a really beautiful way of helping people come back to their hands—back to making without pressure, without needing it to be anything.
You might find yourself working with natural fibers and dyes, gathering plants, stitching by hand, or just sitting with something simple journaling and letting it take shape.
There’s space to play with all of your senses—to notice texture, color, sound, and what’s right in front of you with Natalie and Maura gently guide you through that process, helping you stay with it a little longer.
Time moves between the studio, the garden, and the woods—nothing rushed, nothing forced.
In Maine in the summer, the days stretch out. Light lingers a little longer. Things soften.
The rhythm is simple:
walk the land, make something slowly, share meals, sit together in community, and begin again the next day.
If you’ve been wanting a few days like that—creative, grounded, and quiet—this is that kind of space.

Do what you can to voice our dissent over the cruelty of ICE and this administration. I shared a longer post over on LinkedIn where I have seen little to no conversation about the strike. Help me spread the word over in corporate land by commenting and sharing that LinkedIn post. Link in profile.
