One of the pleasures of Cambridge Open Studios is discovery.
A studio tucked behind a garden gate. A workshop hidden in a converted barn. A painter, ceramicist or jeweller you may never otherwise have found.
Many visitors plan whole weekends around exploring studios, villages and neighbourhoods, often stopping at local cafés and eateries along the way.
It is an arts event, but also a wonderful way to discover new corners of Cambridgeshire and the surrounding region.

There is something very special about seeing art in the place where it is made.
Not in a gallery. Not behind glass. But amongst sketchbooks, tools, paint, clay, works in progress and all the beautiful chaos of creativity.
That is what makes Cambridge Open Studios such a unique experience.
This July, visitors will be welcomed into working studios and venues across Cambridgeshire and the borders to meet artists, hear their stories and experience the creative process first-hand.

The Cambridge Open Studios 2026 event guide cover is here!
The cover features artists working at St Barnabas Press and celebrates something at the very heart of Cambridge Open Studios - artists at work, in real studio spaces, sharing creativity, ideas and community.
The photograph was chosen to reflect the spirit of COS and everything the organisation has always stood for. As well as capturing a working studio environment, it shows artists working alongside one another — a reminder that whilst being an artist can often be solitary, Cambridge Open Studios creates connection, encouragement and a strong creative community.
It also reflects the long-standing relationship between COS and St Barnabas Press, one of our valued partners and home to many artists who are also Cambridge Open Studios members.
Printed copies of the 2026 brochure will be available across Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas in the lead-up to this year’s event, helping visitors discover studios, trails and artists across the region.
Cambridge Open Studios 2026 is free to attend and will take place across four weekends in July: July 4/5, 11/12, 18/19 and 25/26. #COSArt2026

Last weekend of open studios! I'll have nettle paper making demos going on both days, come and see how I make this beautiful paper just from stinging nettles. Open 10 to 5 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
The video shows the sheets I made over the last weekend, and the photos show my work on nettle paper, some that's sold and some that's still available.
