From the moment guests stepped into the East Garden at The Colony Hotel, they were met with a scene that was handsome, unexpected, and fully designed to delight. Every detail had intention — from the serpentine table that encouraged movement and conversation, to the black taper candles, luxe glassware, custom menu cards, and yes… the yacht rock playlist that had us all singing by the second course. (Guilty as charged. 🎶😉)
This was the kind of table that built on itself — plates on plates, lamps and leaves, color and texture — creating a warm, connected energy that only grew as the night unfolded. Every curve invited elegance. Every layer added a story. And when a design feels that good? You can feel it in the room. That’s the power of thoughtful planning. That’s the magic of collaboration.

There’s just something about a layered table that speaks to my soul. And this one? A forever favorite. The serpentine shape created the most fabulous nooks and crannies for connection, conversation, and a little bit of magic. Every curve invited intimacy and elegance ✨
And you betcha the soundtrack to this epic dinner party was yacht rock all night and it was not only another fabulous layer but also a great conversation contributor as a song would come on, people would start singing (and by people I for sure include myself here 🤣).
Also -> *Plates on plates. Glassware that danced in the light. Texture, color, leaves, black taper candles, lamps—**each element building on the next. And as the night went on, the table only got better. That’s the dream, isn’t it? 👌🏼🤩
And then—the menu. Thoughtfully created, beautifully designed, and entirely custom. Crafted with the guest experience in mind, it was another delicious layer that brought people together. Equal parts fun, stylish, and unforgettable. And an actual keepsake too. Just so special and just the way I like it.🖤
Designing a table like this—where the setting complements the scene (hello, iconic East Garden at The Colony Hotel!)—is all about working with the space, never against it. It’s about storytelling through design. And that’s what I love most—creating smart, layered, meaningful moments that people remember.
