A new phase. A new year. Grateful to make music with my sister.
This song is so beyond special to me. Lots of layers. Provocative. I cherish making Music with Jordyn. Her ability to craft a song, and know herself, is truly something to behold. She embodies what it means to be an uncompromising, inspired, unique artist.
Itās time for a lot of new Jordyn music, I hope you enjoy it. But all that matters to me, is that I enjoy it. Thatās the point of artistic expression imo.

This week something really cool/ bucket list happened. @dannyluxfr got nominated for his first Latin Grammy. So proud that @jordynshellhart and myself got to co write āLa Lluviaā on album this with Danny and @aureobaqueiro , and that I got to produce with Danny, and Jordyn got to join Danny on the record.
My dude @davidmsegura mixed it into absolute beauty and brilliance. And as always I love @vpsjose and @mabatiz for being the best. Grateful to get to be a part of this albums story, and for it to be recognized for how great it is too to bottom. Congrats to all the collaborators who also deserve all the love for their gifts top to bottom.

Ice storm.
Itās been a week. Basically 7 days without power. 34 degrees in our house at times. I honestly began to think it would never end. Iām exhausted emotionally, physically. Butā¦
Iām so grateful forā¦ our community, our people. Friends that let us sleep in their warm homes, adamantly. Friends that made us a home cooked meal, and shared exceptional mezcal. Friends who texted, saying hi, offering anything they could.
Iāve lived a few places, but I have to say, there is nowhere better than to live somewhere where you are loved, and love permeates the neighborhood.
I feel loved. People showing up for people.
I felt seen by God through the people that showed us theyād do anything for us. We see you. And we love you. Thank you.
At times I feel I show up for everyone else with all that I have (if you know meā¦) but this week i felt it back X a million. More than I could ever give.
Tonight Iām grateful for heat, lights, my family, and friends.

Most of my career is wondering if I have a career šš but itās moments like these that Iām reminded how special it is to call myself a songwriter, and to be in this community. So thankful to my guy @drewbaldridgemusic for what he put into this song/record. And to my guy @yearyjimmy for being a genius. Iām forever in awe of our song.

A happy tempo about sad subject matter.
We wrote this song pondering heavy thoughts of depression/ anxieties/ hopelessness. You can feel it in your bones when you are going through it. The heart tells you lies. About who you are, what your value is, and your belongingness, your value. Donāt follow your heart on those thoughts. Itās not true.
I hope this song allows anyone going through to it to look at the sun, and feel its goodness. To see tomorrow with hope, not hurt.

Making music rocks: and making these songs with Peytan is no exception. We built and rebuilt this production until we really felt what the lyrics were saying. The chase was well worth it. What a beautiful and heartbreaking song about something so real to everyone whoās ever lived imo.
