Cameron Balloons are proud to announce our partnership with @pilotpetesflyinglegacy , a charity dedicated to supporting and inspiring the next generation of balloonists in memory of the brilliant and much-missed Peter Gregory. 💙
As part of this collaboration, we’ve donated a brand-new Sport-80 envelope, fully branded with the charity’s logo, along with a basket, burner, and essential accessories to create a complete training setup.
This kit will support aspiring pilots on their journey toward qualification, and we look forward to helping the charity share their new equipment with fellow pilots and crew at this weekend’s New Beginnings meet.
A spokesperson for the charity said : “Pilot Pete’s Flying Legacy is thrilled to have received this fantastic and generous show of support from Cameron Balloons. A huge thank you to Jess, Nick and the team - we’re looking forward to working together to champion new aviators to take to the skies in memory of Peter.”

Our beloved 'Up' balloon has been on holiday in Italy, making thousands of spectators smile at @angera_citta_della_mongolfiera .
🎈🇮🇹 The weekend festival covered three days of tethered flights, music and nightglows to raise funds for local charities, and even included a mass chorus of Happy Birthday dedicated to our dealer Giovanni Aimo who celebrated turning 80 during the event.
🗣️ Organiser Jordan Rivers-Scott says :
"A wonderfully successful 3 day weekend here in Italy. UP was the star of the show and has been the centre of many social media posts and TV coverage.
The entire volunteer team is now reminiscing on how wonderful it was and the experiences we offered to everyone. In particular, disabled people were able to fly and experience the sport for themselves. A privilege for us.
We are awaiting a final total, but we hope in excess of €35,000 will be donated to our 3 nominated charities.
I would like to say a genuine and heartfelt thankyou to Cameron’s for your generosity."

🎂 A very special story, in time to celebrate Sir @davidattenborough 's 100th birthday tomorrow.
This first photograph captures a remarkable moment in the early 1980s, when our founder Don Cameron flew with Sir David during filming for the BBC’s The Living Planet.
Launching from Blairgowrie, Scotland, the team set out to reach altitudes of up to 18,000 feet to collect aerial samples, complete with oxygen and parachute equipment, and a basket filled with film crew and kit.
Like many great ballooning stories, things didn’t go entirely to plan. The sampling equipment didn’t quite deliver what was hoped, and on landing in the hills, it was sadly damaged beyond repair (although everyone on board was safe).
Their landing brought them to a small hillside farmhouse, where the farmer's young daughter was having a birthday party. Before being allowed to use the telephone, Sir David was first asked to wish her a happy birthday! 🥳
More than three decades later, Sir David would take to the skies again with Cameron Balloons, this time over the Swiss Alps during filming for Planet Earth II, flying in a Z-140 piloted by Clive Bailey.
🎈 From the Scottish hills to the Alps, it’s been a privilege to play a small part in journeys that have helped bring the natural world closer to us all.
Happy 100th birthday for tomorrow, Sir David, and thank you for a lifetime of inspiration. 🌍
