Alexis is cooking dinner. I trip over Mozzie three times before realizing he’s thirsty. His water bowl was still on the table because Avie’s favorite game is to dump it upside down. As I set his water bowl back on the ground, I hear something spilling behind me. Avie has put a toy block in my glass before dumping it on the ground. Loma has been yelling for my attention to look at the picture she’s coloring, so as I pour the block out of my glass into the trash bin in frustration and look down at what she’s coloring. I’m pretty impressed with how good she’s getting. She asks to hang it on the fridge.
I take a step back and this is the scene in my kitchen and I’m a little overwhelmed with gratitude. ❤️
The glory days are now.

Cannot believe this.
Filming a job in the random Florida town of Lakeland… I ask a local what I should know about Lakeland and I learn there is the highest concentration of Frank Lloyd Wright structures in a single city here! Apparently toward the end of his life, he was commissioned to design an entire freaking college campus! 18 buildings within about a square mile!!!
Finished my shoot early and headed straight to the campus, put some jazz on in my AirPods and took one of the sickest walks I never knew I could have. ❤️
I love the moments when I realize I’m living in the glory days.
Also, not why I decided to post this, but I feel like I should point out that this is what a church community can look like. A handful of wounded, messed up, passionate, loving and beautiful people that have decided to stick through years of ups and downs.

This photo makes me just want to weep.
My wife is obnoxiously gifted at a lot of things, but nothing comes close to what an incredible mother she is.
My mom is the best mother I could have ever asked for. I am so grateful for my childhood and my parents, both of which are the best of the best. My mom inspires me in so many ways. She also has found an incredible balance of knowing when to support me and when to push and challenge me. And all of this comes in a package overflowing with joy and not ever taking herself too seriously.
My sister IS A MOM!!! She’s a lot of amazing things to me, but I cannot wait to see how she thrives as she raises little Atley.
I cannot believe that all three of these women are in my life and actually in Chattanooga. The world is a far better place with these three mommas.

Avie Asa Muilenburg
I have this feeling this little dude is going to teach me more than I could ever teach him. Not only will he carry on the family name of Muilenburg, but I got to pass along my middle name Asa which goes back generations in my family and means “healer” and “strong one”.
Alexis was an absolute rockstar through a rough natural birth and is doing great. We pulled up to the house today with our boy and saw the balloons and signs friends had put out front to greet us, backlit by a gorgeous sunset, and just wept. What a beautiful and daunting thing it is to be a parent.
Our little Loma girl has the middle name Glory, and y’all, I think these two little kids are gonna be such a gift to this world.
I’ve got too many thoughts and feelings to type out, but God is good and I’m so thankful. ❤️
Dropped Alexis off for work today at the shop and every time I do I am just filled with such pride and affection for this girl… woman… mother.
We are six years into marriage and six months into @sowercha , and while life ain’t easy, this morning I just wanted to capture this moment to look back on.
I also just love so many things about the season we are in and I want to sit in that for a moment today. Loma is in such a sweet stage. We have this shop that is a dream come true and has been so well-received by the Chattanooga community and beyond. Alexis is growing our little boy and his arrival is just around the corner!
Anywho. Life can be hard and stressful. Today I choose gratitude and have a heck of a lot to be thankful for.
Also this means Alexis is at the shop today so go say hi.
