We say it all the time, but once you’re #CamelbackFam, you’re always Camelback Fam. And we mean that. Recently, some of our New Orleans-based team had the chance to support FREE ALAS, founded by 2021 Camelback Fellow Lisa Maria Rhodes, at their crawfish fundraiser — an event thoughtfully planned and led by their youth. @free.alas equips youth and educators to remove barriers to education, career, and freedom for and with young people navigating immigration and criminal courts. Seeing young people lead, organize, and create space for community care and collective support was a reminder for us to continue investing in underrepresented founders. We’re proud to continue showing up for the incredible leaders in our ecosystem and witnessing the transformative work they’re building every day. #CamelbackVentures #socialimpact

45 million Americans are credit invisible. 2024 Camelback Fellow, David Henderson is changing that. As Founder of Giving Credit he’s building a platform that captures how communities already “bank” with each other — and turns it into recognized credit. So far: • 700+ users • $200K+ in transactions tracked • Venmo + Cash App integrations Camelback played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s path. “It’s incredible being in a community with true social entrepreneurs… people facing the same challenges and motivated by the same sense of justice.” — David Henderson, Founder, Giving Credit What began as a nonprofit shifted to a for-profit, non-extractive model — always free for users, with revenue generated through institutional partnerships. That shift unlocked scale and positioned the company for growth, with a $1M pre-seed raise nearly complete. This is Built To Innovate — our monthly series spotlighting Fellows building solutions rooted in lived experience and community. Every story is a blueprint. Every founder is proof. Over the past month, Camelback Ventures has been on the ground, from New Orleans to San Francisco, moving between rooms filled with nonprofit leaders, funders, and ecosystem builders, all grappling with what it takes to sustain and scale impact right now. At the Agape Conference, we stepped into conversations on nonprofit resilience and founder–capital alignment. What we heard was real: we're collectively facing an unpredictable funding landscape, but holding a deep, shared understanding that the urgency of this work hasn’t diminished. If anything, it’s intensified. At the EdLoC Summit, the conversation turned to capital—how it moves, who it reaches, and what it looks like to deploy it in ways that are truly catalytic for impact. We were grateful to sit on a panel with some incredible peers in the ecosystem! And we came back to New Orleans at the Tulane Lepage Center Entrepreneur Supporters Forum, we connected with local ecosystem builders working closest to founders—reminding us that strong, aligned infrastructure matters at every stage. In every room, one thing was clear: people are still showing up, still building, still investing in what’s possible. As we wrap a month of travel, we’re carrying these conversations with us as we prepare for Guardian Summit this June in New Orleans. If you’re thinking about resilience, capital, and the future of impact—we’d love to build a new blueprint with you. ➡️ Learn more: guardiansummit.com

Raj Thakkar @rajthakkar214 thank you. For seven years you’ve provided strategic vision, honest counsel, and genuine commitment to @camelbackventures . That’s not a small thing. Board service is quiet work. But our team has felt your presence year after year: in the decisions you helped shape, in the questions you pushed us to ask, and in the consistency of your support through every season of our growth. We’re better for having had you at the table. And while your term is closing, you’ll always have a place in our community. Thank you. Truly.

As we build a new blueprint for entrepreneurship and innovation, we have to ask: How are we actually sustaining ourselves beyond finances and drive? At Camelback, we believe sustainable impact doesn’t just come from strategy, capital, or scale. It comes from people who are well enough to carry the vision forward. And so, wellness becomes a necessary conversation at Guardian Summit. We’re honored to welcome Dr. Wizdom Powell — a nationally recognized psychologist, policy leader, and CEO whose work has shaped how we think about mental health, equity, and systemic change. She’ll be joined by Camelback Alum Alicia Williams, founder of Selah Health, who is pioneering a new category of hormone-informed performance intelligence. 💡 Together, they’ll explore a question many of us have been quietly holding: What does it look like to build, lead, and innovate without losing ourselves in the process? Because if we’re serious about creating new systems, we also have to be serious about our wellness within them. 🎟️ Secure your seat at Guardian Summit. It’s Day 2 of @colossalcommunity ’s social media takeover: At Colossal, learning doesn’t live within four walls—it lives in the world. Our 32 annual field experiences are not enrichment; they are core to how students develop critical thinking, adaptability, and real-world awareness. These moments bridge the gap between academic concepts and lived experience, allowing students to engage directly with industries, ecosystems, and communities. This is where learning becomes relevant—and where students begin to see themselves as active participants in the world around them. We are not just educating students—we are equipping them with the experiences and perspective needed to navigate and shape the future. Hi! Shiren here. I’m taking over Camelback’s social media, so follow me for a day as the founder of Colossal Academy- Microschool Network… and you’ll mostly find me here—in the classroom. What you don’t see in this reel are the early mornings (and late nights) in pajamas with coffee—building strategy, writing, planning, creating, holding the vision, drawing up contracts, reconciling the books. That part exists… it has to. But the truth is—the life is here. In the classroom. With students. In the energy of real learning happening in real time. Proximity to my students, to my people, to the culture we’re building—this is what keeps me going. This is what makes the 2 a.m. nights worth it. At my core, I’m a teacher first. Everything else is built to protect that, expand that, and make more of these moments possible. This is what it actually looks like. #CamelbackVentures #microschool #socialimpactbusiness #educationinnovation #fortlauderdalebeach
