Looking for a front garden makeover? Look no further! With 1 in 3 front gardens being paved over for parking and 55% having no plants, it’s a joy to work on bringing new life, interest and colour to this garden. We added a mixed native hedge, a gravel path and heaps of wildlife friendly plants that will flower all season long and hold well for winter. Grasses, salvias, foxglove, geums and geraniums amongst others will bring in the bees and pollinators and offer colour and interest to the front of the house. We added a new post and even fixed the gate! Why not let a lovely green garden welcome you home. Do get in touch if we can bring joy to your front garden #gardenmakeover #frontgarden #planting #newgarden

I recently qualified as a level 2 nature and health facilitator with @naturalacademy_ecopsychology . As part of the @rewildyourself project, along with a brilliant bunch of people from Nottingham, we will be offering nature connection and wellbeing workshops across the city. I am delighted to be part of this amazing group and cant wait to begin our journey. More on this soon. #naturewell #wellbeing #natureconnection #natureandhealth

Perhaps you have added lots of plants but it’s still not got the wow factor you were looking for? Maybe your garden looks great for a few weeks then just flops? I can help! By carefully selecting a range of plants that work for your garden I can bring colour, structure and interest all year round - I can bring that wow factor you’re looking for. Do get in touch if I can help #planting #gardendesign #plantingplan #planting

A huge shout out to @callow.andy and Cain of Sherwood Wildlife Gardens for all their hard work in creating my little wildlife haven today 🌿🌺🐝🌼🦋 I am a gardener but I have to admit, this space had beaten me. I’ve only been working on the back garden and for the front I needed a professional designer on the job. On our first meeting, Andy suggested a native hedge and it wasn’t something I’d considered before so I thought it was a great idea. In the rest of the planting I wanted things that would attract pollinators and be low maintenance. Andy had shown me the types of plants he would provide but I was blown away when he brought them today and honestly felt a bit emotional 🥹 The bee post tops it off and the sweet gravel path. For the first time I feel really pleased and excited about this front garden and can’t wait to see it bloom and thrive. Watch to the end to see how bad it was before. It feels really appropriate to be making a better space for wildlife on @davidattenborough ‘s 100th birthday too! Many thanks Andy, I will be recommending you to everyone!

We all love giving back and sharing our time and experience by looking after this beautiful space at Nottingham QMC. The hospital garden, designed by @jothompsongarden is a rare green space and one that is cherished by patients and staff alike. It’s super to see it captured in this reel. Following our fundraiser we have sourced new plants that add further interest and longevity to the design and replace plants that, 5 years on have got too big or too rampant!. We have given lots of these away and added some of our own too. #Hospital #hospitalgarden #givingbacktothecommunity #volunteering @bethnottingham

Last week we worked with @changegrowliveuk to create a space for staff and users in Nottingham to relax, learn gardening skills and connect with nature. We packed this garden with veggies, herbs and fruit, added a water butt rain collection system and bee posts made by @grownotts to ensure the space could be managed in sustainable way. We gave the barrel pond a glow up and added climbers for colour and scent. This neglected space is now welcoming, interesting and has purpose. I’m sure it will be well used by all #gardenglowup #makeover #nottingham #ediblegarden

WE DID IT AGAIN 🌼 🌻 🐝 Sneinton is now a lil more loved. Firstly WOW, we were not expecting such an amazing turnout on Saturday, we were well and truly blown away by how things panned out. We for one are absolutely full of beans now to keep building a greener sneinton. We left Saturday feeling inspired connected and assured that as a community we can achieve bloody anything. What a lovely lovely day. We want to say a MASSIVE thankyou to everyone who said elo, lent a hand and supported on the day, the whole project was and is rooted in community and we literally couldn't of done anything without everyone. The scenes when we had 20/30 folks all lined up planting filled our lil hearts right to the top. Amongst us, and everyone we spoke to there was a big appetite to crack on, and we intend to do just that! We want to say a big big big big big thnx to all those who helped us deliver our loveliest day eva @sneinton.swag for coming through with the whole crew, getting stuck in a supporting with litter picking @bethwise for the screen printing workshops @heatherhodkinson for the designs @rights4flies for painting a million faces and bringing there luvly luvly smiles @lydiapage and co for the amazing amazing rewilding streets activities @ludditefolksession for blessing us with there sounds all day @young wilders for whipping up mega habitats @drljbees for sharing there wonderful insect knowledge And of course the crew aaron belcher, andy callow, heather and emma for making it all happen. Another day of hope, planting and community with @grownotts and @heatherhodkinsonart - continuing the mission to connect and green up #sneinton. This time more edibles and sand based planting along from the lawn towards the King Billy. Soo many people came out, shared music, food and drinks, got stuck in and bathed in the sunshine. What a day, heart full of optimism. Massive respect to Jack and Heather. #community #communityspaces #Nottingham #wild

Many thanks to @nottmcollege and @you_dig_gardens for inviting me to join their sustainability day on #earthday this week. We set up a mini pond to pond dip, did some maintenance to the college pond they built with me last autumn and did some cool nature connection activities with the students, exploring natural items locally that spoke to them in terms of how nature brings them Joy. @thecropclub planted loads of potato tubers and spoke about the importance of no plastic gardening. A wonderful day, catching up with students who built the pond and meeting new people who share a passion for a more sustainable future #sustainability #pond #nature

Maggie is in her 80s and is a wildlife enthusiast. At the end of her large garden is a small pond and wildlife area but with limited mobility Maggie has been restricted to the patio at the house. We worked together to design a space that would connect the garden to the patio and be seen from her window chair. We designed and created a wildlife pond with habitats of wood and stone and created a wildflower meadow across a wider area with an accessible pathway through the middle. This new garden space can be seen from her window chair and her new table and chairs can be bought right up to the pond to watch the wildlife close up. Be more like Maggie, at 82, still full of life, vision and with a passion for wildlife. #pond #meadow #ukwildlife #pondlife #frogs

What a joy to be part of @nottinghamorganicgardeners - we are a small group of volunteers who want to shout about, educate and celebrate sustainable, organic growing and gardening. Our Spring Lecture is always a super afternoon and this year @alysf gave a brilliant talk on peatlands, their complexity, beauty and importance. We need to get peat banned and stop using it, stop buying it in plants and stop buying products that destroy peatlands. I love how @nottinghamorganicgardeners brings together friends, new people and those who have been gardening organically for decades. A personal thanks to @nottmcollege for being so welcoming and to @you_dig_gardens for sharing her great work, and stepping in on the slides. Big up NOGs- proud to be a part of it all! #volunteering #committee #gardentalks #nottingham
