It’s the last week to visit Queer Ecologies II @charlottestreetfoundation! The final day is Saturday, May 2. Queer Ecologies brings together 20 queer artists from the Midwest whose practices engage with their ecological counterparts. The exhibition is curated by @sk__paints & @lilywelderb of @itsthewaitingroom and and @bianca.brandolino & Maven Kennedy of @purplewindowgallery. I appreciate the invitation to participate in this bright and beautiful show, and the chance to show some work that hadn’t been shown before or seen in a long time. Thanks to @midwestagenda & @kcstudiomag for the write ups and @egschempf for the gorgeous documentation!

“Play With Your Food”, 2026 @mobmuseumofart @alabamacontemporary ️I am inspired by how audiences are already building their own worlds and games with @jacobreptile and my creations. The plan is to keep playing with scale and points of interaction. Synthetic materials entering our food supplies and food scarcity has been on my mind for a few years now. My soft sculptures of food will continue to expand on this theme.

Happy Earth Day, Earthlings! Back on the road and sharing the good work of reuse centers turning waste into resources. We are all in this together!@ricracknola and @magpiecreativereuse have moved on to greener pastures and new spaces. I am deeply grateful to the Magpie community for making me feel so welcomed to their flock in Kansas City. I hold all the friends I met and the things I collected there like shiny treasures. ‍⬛ This weekend is the Magpie Moth Ball. If you’re in KC consider joining this party and supporting them! A piece of mine will be included in the live auction at the gala.

We celebrated the culmination of 4 years of making art, joy, and mischief together in Mobile, Alabama.As artists, Jacob and I align in so many ways. It made sense to join forces to build upcycled art experiences for folks of all ages and abilities. We started our conversation about collaboration in 2022 when I participated in my first @aquariumgallery residency and Jacob showed me how to sew 3D forms. We conceptualized an art petting zoo for the @alabamacontemporary in 2023 and now that exhibition “Handle with Care” is on view at the @mobmuseumofart through spring 2027. I’m so proud of us @jacobreptile and can’t wait to see what we come up with next ️Thanks to my plus one and the extended @aquariumgallery family for making the trip to the opening reception.

Colorado and reuse centers? A slice of paradise.Went on an adventure with my bestie @pizzarainbow to attend a @jadethirlwall_s concert and dinner for two at Casa Bonita last month. Thanks again to my wonderful friend for the boundless love and giggles between us Was lucky to visit @recreativedenver and my sibling Tucker’s new job post @denvertoollibrary on my last day. Love when vacation includes friends, family, and my reuse family. Whimsy came too!!Recreative you’re looking real cute!

Nature is wild, strange, and super gay! Queer Ecologies II brings together artists from across the Midwest celebrating the queerness in themselves and the natural world. The exhibition is the second curated collaboration between @itsthewaitingroom and @purplewindowgallery. Join us for the opening reception this Saturday, March 21st from 3-5pm @charlottestreetfoundation. Queer Ecologies II, curated by Bianca Brandolino, Lily Erb, Maven Kennedy, and SK Reed, embodies a deeply queer ethos: building the communities we seek beyond traditional structures and imagining more expansive, interconnected futures. An ode to those very special municipal transfer stations with a shop. Research if there is one near you!I was pleasantly surprised by my first visit to @jocorecycles. Johnson County accepts hazardous chemical material donations and rehouses some items through a FREE community store. It is a very cute and clean facility. ️Their hours are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 8:30-12, 1-3:30pm.The bags of grout came with me. I’ll use them for my mosaic classes @thejkansascity.

Watch me transform a bottle into glass cane for sculpture. ️‍ ️ ️A dream finally came true through my @englewood.arts residency. After working in glass for the last 3 years, I finally learned how to recycle post consumer bottles! @galiumgermanium visited our studios from Bali, where he co-owns a hot shop. The first night Gage rolled in to town he said he learned how to repurpose a bottle into cane out of necessity when new glass isn’t available on the island. Thank you Gage for your guidance in the hotshop this month and @englewood.arts for giving me the chance to experiment with this medium.I can’t wait to show you what else I make! #hotshop #recycledglass #glassblowing #flameworking
