🌸 Thank you all for a wonderful and memorable spring semester!
🪷 A huge thank you to our board members — Nina, Sophie, and Cambridge — for bringing these performances to life.
💝 To our incredible performance organizers: thank you for giving us the opportunity and platform to share Vietnamese traditional dance and culture with the Cal and NorCal community. We’re so grateful for your trust.
🧚♀️ Special shoutout to Emily for stepping in during AFX and DWX! Your openness to learning Vietnamese dance in such a short time helped us bring this intricate art form to the Cal community, and we are so thankful.
📸 To our photographers: thank you for capturing the heart and hard work of our dancers and our culture. @studioanh.photo , @bennysitu.photo , @viennagphotos , @photosbyellieee
💐 And lastly, to our amazing team: thank you for all of your dedication this busy semester. Because of you, Vietnamese Classical Traditional Dance and culture reached a wider audience than ever before.
💝 We’re so excited for our Fall 2025 team and can’t wait to share even more performances with you!
A Longing for Home 👑✨
Inspired by Princess Huyền Trân, this piece captures the quiet ache of a princess sent far from Đại Việt—her homeland. After the passing of her Champa husband, she was left in uncertainty and danger, her heart caught between duty and the deep longing to return home.
Through each movement, her story unfolds—of sacrifice, resilience, and a love for home that never fades. 💫
Thank you to @jujubeleaflet for the amazing photos!
Echoes of the Champa Kingdom ✨👑
A dance that carries whispers of ancient royalty, where Champa grace meets the legacy of the Trần dynasty. Every movement tells a story of connection, conflict, and cultural exchange that shaped our history. Though time has passed, the spirit of Champa still lives on, woven into Vietnamese identity, art, and tradition.
Honoring the past, feeling it in every step. 💫
Thank you to @jujubeleaflet for the amazing photos!

As we prepare for our March 21st show “What Makes Us Great Again?”, we want to highlight the stories that bring us together. In 1405, Cheng Ho landed in Vijaya, a Muslim Malay Kingdom in today’s southern Vietnam. This was the same place where his ancestor, Syed Omar, was captured during the failed Mongol-Chinese invasion of Vietnam, beginning the Viet-Champa alliance which cost Princess Huyền Trân, Permusairi of Champa her life.
Across our complex and at times painful stories, we hope to build a future founded in truth and reconciliation. We hope you'll join us in re-examining the past to ask what truly makes us great.

To the newlyweds Rebecca & Uriel 🤍
Thank you so much for trusting us to showcase Vietnamese culture on such a special and meaningful day. Being welcomed into your wedding with so much warmth and support truly meant the world to us.
We’re incredibly grateful to our dancers for pouring their hearts into this performance — and honored to share that this was the very first wedding we’ve ever had the opportunity to perform at. What a milestone.
Wishing you both a lifetime of love, joy, and beautiful beginnings ✨
