A piece which I composed earlier in the year. It’s a very simple piece performed with such brilliant virtuosity by @gabe_smells@itsadriansoares@elenawittkuhn@charlottegreenwaymusic Out of all my work so far, I’m particularly proud of this one because it works as a piece of contemporary classical and also as a banger and I’m all about that.
Here are two of my favourite moments from a live recording of STATE OF FLUX premiered on September 25th 2025 at the Utzon Room of the Sydney Opera House by @omegaensembleau .
You can listen to the full piece through the link in my bio
This piece was written as part of the Omega Ensemble's 2025 CoLab Composer Accelerator Program. “A DJ- turned - Buddhist priest, Gyōsen Asakura, is currently raising money to do psychedelic “techno memorial services” at the Shō- onji ( 照恩寺 ) temple in Fukui City in central Japan. The 49 - year- old priest has already hosted two such services ... Asakura is now hoping to purchase better equipment for future versions, reports Japankyo.” -Vice News February 7, 2017, 4:31pm
Everything in this world is in a constant state of flux, or so they say. I wanted to create a piece that is constantly changing, yet not changing at all, like the surface of the ocean, which is always in motion but still made of the same substance. The music pushes and pulls, it is delicate, it is violent, but ultimately, it’s a series of variations on a very simple musical signature. This signature forms the foundation of the entire piece, both in a micro and macro sense.
There are four interconnected movements titled
I. BREATHE
II. OUT OF NOWHERE, THE MIND COMES FORTH
II. WHO IS THIS?
IV. EGO DEATH DANCE
huge thankyou to Omega Ensemble and all of its brilliant artists who helped me bring this piece to life.
Mechanical Buddha with Fluctuations

Except from HUMDRUM which I wrote last year for @jon_parker43 ANAM recital
This whole piece is based around a two note piss-take guitar solo in the song 'Boredom' by Buzzcocks. The original solo goes for about 30 seconds, but i extended it to 6ish minutes with some lush string writing for good luck.
You can listen to the whole thing on my website ✌️

We had an incredible afternoon celebrating new Australian music at Future Classics last Saturday. Thank you to everyone who came out in support of our budding Hatched Academy composers (@cal_oreilly , @georginabowdenart , @louis__wishart and @beth.r0che ), Hatched alumni (@klearhosmurphy ) and Emerging Performer (@ronanhatesmusic ). A special thank you to our lead composition mentor Holly Harrison @hollyharrison_composer and our Hatched Academy director Jason Noble @jase_clarinet for facilitating last week's unforgettable Hatched Composer Intensive.
Thank you to Limelight and ClassikON for the glowing reviews. You can find links to the full reviews in the link in bio.
"Future Classics reaffirms the importance of supporting new sounds and voices in Sydney’s often reserved musical scene. A program defined by diversity, each work independently offered insights into the possibilities of sound in live performance." - Limelight
"The philosophy of good guidance is explicit and strong. Guidance pays off: this concert is an ode to a passion all grown up." - ClassikON

The ending of my piece STATE OF FLUX, which I wrote for Omega Ensemble for their New Now concert. A link to the full piece is in my bio. I started as a composer in highschool making beats on FL Studio and have somehow come full circle.
Congratulations to composers Oliver John Cameron, Alexandra Mison, Cassie To and Callum O’Reilly on their world premieres at Sydney Opera House last week.
After six months working together with the ensemble as part of the CoLAB Composer Accelerator Program, we were thrilled to see these bold new works performed as part of our annual New Now Showcase.
Thank you also to our 2025 professional mentors Nigel Westlake, @missymazzoli , Elena Kats-Chernin, @nicomuhly , @chriscerrone and @hollyharrison_composer
