After less than two months into her Cakeable internship, Dohany has accepted a job as a barista at Catalyst Coffee! We got to celebrate her graduation yesterday as she became intern #4️⃣8️⃣ to graduate from our Vocational Training Program. So proud of you Dohany!
Last week, our friends from Haerfest Coffee visited the cafe. Toby, Luke and Reid create custom roasts for Cakeable. They also provide job opportunities for individuals with disabilities at their roastery in Davidson.
Also our friend Tae and Clair came by to decorate coffee cup sleeves for our customers. We love visits from friends!

We are thrilled to announce that Meg Kelly has joined Cakeable as our new Placement Director!
Originally from New Jersey, Meg moved to Charlotte to earn her Master’s in Social Work from UNC Charlotte. She brings four years of experience leading a social and recreational day program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
As Placement Director, Meg is passionate about showcasing the strengths of individuals with IDD and supporting meaningful employment. Her work is rooted in a strong belief in inclusion and community engagement.
Outside of work, Meg enjoys reading, cheering on Charlotte’s sports teams, and discovering new food spots.
