Honouring the theme Queer Community: Celebrating LGBTQI+ Voices in Hard Times’, #bocas2026’s first evening event featured poetry, music and stories by LGBTQI+ writers and performers, including Tamara Ali, Andre Bagoo, Daniel Blaize, Chinyere Brown, Angelique V. Nixon, Brandon O’Brien, Shivanee Ramlochan, The Sugarcane Collective, Deneka Thomas, and visiting authors Linzey Corridon, Christina Cooke, and karen lee.

The 16th edition of the Bocas Lit Fest concluded on Sunday 3 May after four days of discussions and readings, workshops, performances, open mics, and music, featuring close to 150 writers, speakers, and performers.
