🏳️‍🌈 It’s International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT), a day rooted in challenging injustice and ending discrimination against LGBTQI+ communities worldwide. This year’s theme, “At the Heart of Democracy,” calls on societies everywhere to build systems grounded in equity, justice, dignity, and freedom for all, because democracy works best when everyone has a seat at the table! Today and everyday we continue to affirm the importance of inclusion, safety, visibility, and human rights for all. 🌍 #idahobit2026 #caisott

On #IDAHOBIT, the 🇬🇧 UK recommits to standing against hate and violence, and to supporting those working peacefully for human rights and freedoms. Recently, we were pleased to join @caisott Growing Spaces Launch and 5th Annual IDAHOBIT Media Conference, which reinforced that significant challenges remain for the LGBTQ+ community in Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹🏳️‍🌈 Here are 3 things we can do as allies to help: 1. Be inclusive – treat everyone with dignity and respect in workplaces, schools and communities. 2. Speak up – challenge discrimination and support those facing exclusion. 3. Keep learning – build understanding through education, dialogue and awareness. #IDAHOBIT2026 #attheheartofdemocracy

Introducing Growing Spaces 🌱✨ A new project by CAISO: Sex and Gender Justice, grounded in the simple but powerful belief that when people’s basic needs are met, empowerment and self-advocacy become more possible, sustainable, and transformative 💛 With healing justice support systems in place, Growing Spaces aims to increase security, safety, wellbeing, and opportunities for LGBTQI+ people in Trinidad and Tobago 🌈🇹🇹 Building off of our work and the insights from the Wholeness and Justice programme, this project is a response to the many identifiable needs within our community - creating pathways for people to access support, build resilience, and step into their power with dignity and care 🤝🌿 We’re so thrilled to embark upon this project and can’t wait to share more with you. Stay tuned for updates, opportunities, and ways to get involved 🎉💫 #caisott #growningspaces #wholenessandjustice

💛 Gratitude Post 💛 We’re still feeling the love from BackChat and are beyond grateful to everyone who helped make it such a beautiful, powerful, and affirming experience. 🌈✨ A huge thank you to all of our open mic participants, featured writers, and performers for pouring your hearts onto the stage and embodying the theme of queer resilience in every piece 🎤📝🔥 Thank you to our incredible interpreting team for helping bridge the gap and making the event more accessible and inclusive for our community. Your work matters so much. 🤟🏽💫 And finally, thank you to every single person who attended, supported, cheered, shared, and most importantly, donated what you could to the CAISO Food Bank. Your generosity reminded us what community truly looks like. 🥹🫶🏽🥫 BackChat might be over but we’re far from finished! More community, more conversations, and more magic are on the way. 👀🌟 @bocaslitfest @novelniche @tttranscoalition @bacanoleaf #caisott #backchat2026
