“Brownin’,” the upcoming exhibition at InLiquid Gallery (@inliquidart ), curated in collaboration with Zindzi Harley (@zindzilohan ), will feature 13 of my works, along with works by four other Philadelphia-based artists. This exhibition brings together artists whose practices engage Blackness not as a monolith, but as a site of plurality, nuance, and self-definition. “Brownin’” is on view April 9 - May 23. Come meet the artists during the opening reception from 6-9pm, on April 9, at InLiquid Gallery (@inliquidart ).

The upcoming “Brownin’” exhibition @inliquidart opening April 9 from 6-9pm, will feature 13 of my works, ten of which are mixed media graphics I created that are inspired by old Newport ads. Instead of cigarettes, these large scale replica magazine pages audaciously advertise Black normalcy as a metaphorical product. Scroll above to read more about the concept behind the graphics. The full collection will be on view @inliquidart gallery for the opening reception April 9 and remain on view until May 23.

Caff Adeus (@caffadeus ) is a self-taught visual artist whose practice primarily consists of mixed-media paintings and assemblages, street art, and photography. He’s currently focused on creating work from an autobiographical point of view that defies norms, stereotypes, and monolithic rhetoric by using a blend of cultural references and iconography. InLiquid Gallery’s current exhibition, “Brownin’” features a painting, two assemblages, and multiple print works by Adeus. The print works resemble cigarette ads from the late 20th century, of which the artist notes, “Instead of cigarettes, these large-scale replica magazine pages audaciously advertise Black normalcy as a metaphorical product.” Speaking of his work in the exhibition, Adeus says, “Black life through the eyes of others tends to constantly revolve around a cause or rising up. Duty and activism are cool, but I live, too. Like, I do relax, just FYI, and I want outsiders to understand that from these graphics.” “Brownin’” is currently on view at InLiquid Gallery and was curated in collaboration with Zindzi Harley (@zindzilohan ). The exhibition showcases five Philadelphia-based artists whose work studies the Black figure and celebrates Black identity by redefining the meaning of beauty. The exhibition is on view through May 23, 2026. Join us for the next gallery reception on May 14 from 6-9 pm - RSVP link in @inliquidart  bio! Pictured: 1.) We’re excited to announce ‘Grey Area’, a solo exhibition by Caff Adeus opening January 10th. Grey Area distills vision back to a time before color, exploring how early human perception found meaning in black, white, and the subtle shifts between them. For Adeus, today’s overstimulation of color becomes a personal challenge—one he quiets by working exclusively in meticulously mixed grays. These monochromatic scenes and portraits echo sculpture in their rawness and simplicity, revealing nuance through form and light rather than hue. A return to seeing less, so we can see more. Join us January 10th, from 6-9pm for the opening reception. The show will be open through February 21st.

There is no creation without imitation. God was the first artist to replicate an original. It’s unfortunate that His creation wasn’t a better rendition, but at the very least what He created is something unique. Thats why I chose to paint this work and include it in my upcoming solo show next month. It’s a piece based on the myth of The Three Graces which has been reproduced and reinterpreted throughout history, but this version is unique to me.
