After loss, Lori and Robert Black found love — and with it, a renewed purpose to help Edmond connect. Together they’ve built three welcoming spaces for the community to gather: Evoke Coffee (@cafeevoke ) for your morning pick-me-up, Twisted Tree Bakery (@twistedtreebakingcompany ) for European-style breads and pastries, and now Bluebird Books — a bright, cozy home for stories, friendship and everyday magic. ✨
At Bluebird Books you can sip coffee, browse hand-picked reads, bring your kids to play, meet a friend, or simply linger in a space designed to transport you. It’s the newest chapter in the couple’s “holy trinity” of local gems and a love letter to Edmond’s growing downtown.

In 2025 alone, EDMOND MOBILE MEALS served 94,370 meals through home deliveries and at the Edmond Senior Center, providing not just food, but care, connection, and dignity.
With ongoing challenges like government shutdowns and reductions in food benefits, the need is real and growing.
Food is our love language, and giving back is at the heart of what we do.

As we reflect this Thanksgiving season, our hearts are full. When we became the owners of Evoke just six months before the world shut down in 2020, we’d be lying if we said we weren’t terrified. If you were with us then, you probably remember us doing everything—making drinks, taking orders, cooking food, washing dishes, wiping tables—whatever needed to be done. You might even remember our kids helping out, because Evoke truly became a family effort overnight.
What we never could have imagined was the outpouring of support from this community. You showed up—day after day, month after month—and helped us not only keep Evoke going, but thriving. Because of you, our little coffee eatery has become an extension of our home and our family.
Sometimes your visit is just a coffee. Other times it’s business, or remote work, or brunch with a friend. And then there are the big moments—weddings, receptions, baby showers, birthday celebrations. No matter the occasion, it means the world to us that Evoke has become a place where so many of life’s moments unfold. Sharing those moments with you has been one of the greatest joys of these last six years.
Thank you for taking care of us, our business, our amazing staff, and our family through your continued support and patronage. It’s not just coffee, and it’s not just food. It’s a community. And we’re endlessly grateful to be part of yours.
