The move from Maria Dezasseis to Sintra was neither planned or expected.
It arrived like death, without warning, when no one was expecting it. What, amid the confusion, seemed like a backward and uncertain step ultimately revealed itself to be, in reality, a conscious step in our creative journey.
After everything that was lived, learned, and created at Maria Dezasseis, this new space is born as a place of maturation - where ideas are given TIME, BREATH AND GROW.
We are two artists, Sofia Cruz and Joรฃo Maria Bernardino, and this new space will be an extension of who we are and what we believe in, with our desire to keep creating, now with more space and a wider horizon.
A territory of LIVING CREATION, made of processes, connections and experiences. An open manifesto, in constant transformation, where artistic practice intersects with Nature and the energy of the Sintra mountains.
We call it CABRA because it could not possibly be called anything else (those who accompanied us during the move and in the first days in the new space know); the goats were and still are always there on the land, following us. And everything they represent makes sense to us - RESILIENCE, INSTINCT, FREEDOM, CURIOSITY, and the ABILITY TO FIND A PATH on a difficult terrain.
CABRA is that: a continuation of the story, a manifesto in the form of a living space, unfiltered, made of processes, moments, experiences, time and sharing.
