I’ve been a fan of Lisa’s makeup for years, I still remember discovering her Covent Garden pop-up and falling in love with everything (even my makeup bag is from Lisa’s 🤣). I’ve also always loved fashion illustration, and first came across artist
@blairz work during lockdown, I remember seeing her work online, imagining one of her pieces on my wall one day…So getting to direct this short animation and work with both icons felt extra special.
As a director, my approach on this project was to create a holiday rendezvous, connecting six of Blair’s illustrated characters into one story through movement, dialogue, and sound. Turning still graphics into relatable lively moments of getting ready for a night out ✨Can you see yourself in one of these characters? 😉
The mood of the animation was inspired by a vintage charm I’ve always loved, something that I believe also lives in both Lisa’s and Blair’s worlds. The music choice was intentional, rhythmic, playful, and touched with a 50s and early 60s Latin and Cuban flair 🎵… and thank you to the voices who helps and bring these characters to life
