Last December 18, I was called to creative direct this event for Al James. A personal show, a big one — one for the friends, the family, and his closest fans. The biggest challenge was putting this together while I was away. This writeup is for them.

![[Grounding Chair] in wood2025 Back when I lived by the beach, we would hang out at our friends’ music studio, sharing stories, drinking, and making fools of ourselves. It was a cozy and intimate space that invited anyone to open up, or get some work done.In this studio, there was one particular chair that I loved. It was an old floor chair that has seen better days. There was something childlike and freeing about sitting on the floor.
