Originally, I had this paint idea in mind for one of my own builds, but plans changed and I’m glad it ended up on this bike instead. Built for a returning client, this is his second bike from the Twisted Wheels workshop.
The
@ridesyre frame and
@bjorncycles stem were custom painted at the Syre factory with a fade from raw carbon into khaki green, giving it a subtle camo look without overdoing it.
The brief was simple: create a unique lightweight all-road / gravel bike that feels fast everywhere, on and off road.
To make the front end as clean as possible,
@bjorncycles designed and 3D-printed a custom headset spacer for a smoother transition and fully integrated cable routing.
Wheels are
@lightbicycle Turbo40 rims built on
@extralite_official HyperSmart hubs.
Cockpit, seatpost, Garmin mount, bottle cage and saddle are all from
@bjorncycles , tying in perfectly with the raw carbon details of the frame.
The groupset is a mix of SRAM Force E1 levers and calipers, SRAM Red cranks, SRAM Force D2 XPLR rear mech, plus a
@garbaruk_components chainring and 10-44 cassette. Finished off with
@burgh bar tape and
@lucendi.ww bar ends.
The frame clears up to 52 mm tyres, but we went with 40 mm Conti Terra Speed tyres to keep it quick, versatile, and ready for pretty much anything.
