📸 13.06.2026 WORKSHOP Camera Obscura by Patrick Blank 📸 Im Camera Obscura-Workshop nehmen wir uns vor, mit einer selbst hergestellten Kamera erste fotografische Aufnahmen zu bewerkstelligen. Der Workshop richtet sich an Anfänger*Innen. Patrick Blank aus dem BULB 6000-Team, der bereits mehrere Camera Obscura-Projekte im Rahmen des Schulunterrichtes betreute, wird die Teilnehmer*Innen im Workshop anleiten. Ziel ist es, durch „Learning by doing“ die Grundlagen der Fotografie und die Funktionsweise einer Kamera in entdeckender und überraschender Weise kennenzulernen. Im ersten Teil am Morgen werden wir aus einer Blechbüchse und weiteren „Bastel-Utensilien“ eine funktionstüchtige Kamera herstellen. Nach der Mittagspause im zweiten Teil werden wir unsere Kameras in der Dunkelkammer darauf vorbreiten, mit uns „Fotograf*Innen“ in Aktion zu treten. Als Tagesziel gilt es, eine fotografische Negativ-Papieraufnahme zu erstellen (ähnlich wie dies Henry Fox Talbot es uns schon in den 1830er Jahren vormachte). Einfachheitshalber werden unsere im Fotolabor entwickelten Negativ-Aufnahmen wohl später am Computer in ein Positivbild verwandelt. Der Workshop steht unter dem Motto „Zusammen Spass an der Entdeckung von Fotografie und am fotografischen Experiment zu erleben!“. Für BULB 6000 wird es zudem mit dem ersten Camera Obscura-Workshop ein Experiment. 🤓 Teilnehmer*nnen: 8 Personen Kosten inkl. Material: 80 CHF. Shipwreck of Dreams is a project that embarks on a journey in search of belonging, intertwining stories of migration through the reimagining of a little-known Swiss myth about a magical ship that grants wishes on Lake Geneva. The project traces the histories of a self-organised school that has roamed Zurich, seeking a permanent free space, listening to the wisdom shared by its interconnected, multi-voiced community at the crossroads of European migration policies. Together, they tell stories about what to consider home. The book presents a collaborative, cross-media documentation of the history and ongoing journey of the Autonomous School Zurich, commonly known as ‘Autonome Schule’ or ASZ. Combining photographs, drawings, archival images, participatory narratives, and essays, it interweaves the school’s history with the wish-granting ship myth, creating a symbolic framework for addressing themes of migration, belonging, and solidarity. Grounded in the school’s multi-vocal nature, the project shares the diverse perspectives and experiences of its wider community. Tracing the school’s grassroots history of resistance against racism and injustice, the project unfolds a powerful counter-narrative to dominant migration discourses and Switzerland’s restrictive policies. Each story and image echoes the myth’s timeless promise of hope, inviting readers to reflect on the complex realities of migration and community. aus unserem Bookshop: Cahier nr.12 - Knowing Thunder - Rebecca Bowring, Artphilein Editions 2025 When lockdown began to spread in our consciousness and our lives, I was stunned at the familiarity I felt with this state of separation from friends, family, and life as I knew it. It was as if I had experienced the feeling of it before. I used the time the lockdown offered to sort through pictures taken a few years earlier with an analogue camera. Looking back, I noticed that they represented both a sense of confinement and a search for escape. I realised that taking these pictures was a way of breathing, a way of detaching myself from impossible situations in order to escape my partner’s control. The pre-existing images surrounding the subject of domestic abuse do not represent what I was experiencing. I didn’t identify with the bruises, the broken ribs, the flowing of blood. Through this project, I propose another view on the photographic representation of domestic abuse. I pasted some of my photos on the walls of my home and photographed them again to visually represent the emotional experience that I had felt. I added other photos as they were, to create a feeling of uncertainty and to represent the multiple and complex, sometimes contradictory, feelings involved in being confined by a toxic relationship. Loneliness, permanent adaptation, self-effacement, so as not to provoke the thunder that is never far away.
