Tried and tested, and the numbers don’t lie. We’re currently working on our first passive house project, and with countless hours of thought, consideration, and meticulous planning and execution, the blower door test results from last week are in, and what we’ve achieved is exciting! A blower door test is used to measure the ACH [Air Changes Per Hour], with the average Australian home having an ACH [Air Changes Per Hour] rating of 15.4. To achieve the passive house certification, the requirement is that a result of .6 ACH or below is recorded, and for our passive home project, we achieved .4 ACH 🙌🏼 This result is a huge step forward to achieving the passive house certification, and another box ticked as we progress through the certification process, but we’re not done yet! Our team are hard at work bringing all the elements together to move closer to the final stages of this build and to the goal of achieving the passive house certification. Watch. This. Internal framing is almost complete. The next stage to follow will be 1st fix plumbing and electrical. Behind the wall. We have began the process on insulating and installing our Airtight Intello membrane from @proclimaau . Our gaol is to achieve 0.6 ACH (air changes per hour) The intello membrane is adhered to the concrete with pro clima’s Orcon 600 then flashing taped to the concrete hob to ensure we achieve an air tight seal for our upcoming blower door test.
