Last year we completed the 'Colours Of' project with Newham Council. This included Colours of Forest Gate' and 'Colours of Green Street' which delivered several co-designed artworks within the areas. Local artists took inspiration from community workshops to design artworks in their own style for a specific location. These artists were voted for by the local community.
This artwork which was installed in October 2024 was designed by @bulletonastring for Colours of Green Street. By pure chance we installed the artwork during Diwali which made the install extra magical as the artwork was partly inspired by this festival.

It was almost a year ago that @zabouartist designed and installed this iconic artwork for Colours of Forest Gate! Facilitated by Bud Studio.
Jimi Hendrix wrote the lyrics to "Purple Haze" in the dressing room of the Upper Cut Club in Forest Gate, London, on Boxing Day 1966 and this blue plaque wall is on Woodgrange road where the club originally existed.

This artwork designed by @_matildawhite , which is located in the underpass of Wanstead Park Station, is part of the Colours of Forest Gate project, funded by Newham council. ‘This mural celebrates the friendly community spirit and diverse cultural tapestry of the neighbourhood. Bold colours illuminate familiar shared spaces like Wanstead Flats, Woodgrange Market, and local grocery stores, portraying the livelihood of the area. Forest Gate’s rich musical history is commemorated with pride in vibrant depictions of dance groups and iconic musicians Tempa T, D Double E, Plan B and Kele Le Roc.’
