We connect with photographer and videographer Bryan Tang, based in Melbourne and Tokyo, and a part of District’s global creative neighbourhood.
Bryan’s practice has been shaped by working in London, Berlin, and around the world, assisting renowned photographers like Craig McDean and Liz Collins. His work across fashion, beauty, and lifestyle is lush, sensual, and evocative, capturing the emotional undercurrent of youthfulness, intimacy, and connection.
In this conversation, Bryan discusses navigating different creative markets and cultures, building trust on set, developing a compelling visual language, and finding inspiration in everything from French cinema to Australian landscapes.

Had an opportunity to visit musician and model Hongor’s ancestral home far away from Berlin.
Out here, family, culture, and nature exist in quiet conversation, offering a space to return to what’s rooted and real. Joined by friends from the @serenity.magazine family, we explored the tension and harmony between contemporary Mongolia and its enduring traditions. Styling took on an avant-garde edge, drawing from shamanic influences and the tactile beauty of traditional horse riding gear, heirlooms passed down through generations of horsemen of the East.

A couple of months ago I visited the country with the bluest skies, and people who take after their horses - gentle spirits but with strong minds - with such warm hospitality that made me feel like home.
