I love seeing details that make me stop and think. This project near Houston had a ceiling assembly I hadn’t run into before, and I’m still processing the full strategy behind it. That’s one of the best parts of getting around other builders, designers, and trades — it challenges the way you think about assemblies and control layers. Curious what others think. Different areas need different details. What works in a dry climate can fail miserably in a hot, humid one. Climate zone, weather patterns, humidity, rainfall, wind, and drying potential all change how a home should be built. Knowing your climate zone isn’t just nerdy building science stuff. It can be the difference between a structure that performs… and one that slowly fails. Around here, moisture management matters. A lot. @pioneerbuildersinc @btgracehomes @stevenbaczekarchitect @wille.build #homeinspection #buildingscience #newconstruction

Nobody ever understands the inspector… or is it the inspector never makes any sense? You be the judge. 😂 @mechanicalhub @wille.build @pioneerbuildersinc @btgracehomes

🍺 BS & Beer is BACK 🍺 Join us Tuesday, May 12th from 4-6PM at Senate Avenue Brewery for a cold one and some real talk about building science. We’re diving into FrogTape — the tape that’s a game-changer for building envelope air sealing. Perfect for taping the WRB (Weather-Resistive Barrier) directly to concrete. Reliable, airtight performance where it matters most. Bring your construction questions, job site stories, or just come for the beer and good conversation. 📍 Senate Avenue Brewery 🕓 4:00 - 6:00 PM 🎤 BS & Beer with FrogTape Tag your crew 👇 Who’s coming? #BSandBeer #FrogTape #BuildingEnvelope #AirSealing #WRB

Update on the memorial townhouse. We flashed the brick wall to the house to make sure no water gets between the brick wall and the house.

Getting the roof decked at our passive house 1.5 Houston. Thanks to @huberwood for the new product release! Just in time to use on our passive house with the vented attic assembly we have here.

Visual step by step of how we build long lasting floors. Each individual phase could be discussed into detail as to why it's important and crucial for the longevity of a tile assembly. Just missed out on some grouting footage Big shout-out to @btgracehomes who continously educates himself in building science and trusting us in projects like these!
