Pt. 2 landscape. “What are the chances that two creatives come together to document a day in the life of a DJ in Portland? About as good as these shots on film. This 3-part series from Coco brings life to the spaces I frequent, captured through a collaborative vision.
The day began at the café where we first met, and from there, the journey unfolded organically with each click of the shutter. From the café to the streets, to the record store, and finally to my home studio—the experience is not just seen, but felt, with texture and soul”

“Creating this series on film with Bryson was deeply enriching. From the moment we met, the energy was magnetic—we hit it off instantly, and the conversation never stopped. Shooting film, especially with someone like Bryson, allowed me to be completely present—something that feels rare in a world of constant notifications and distractions. There was a magic in how the day unfolded, each frame capturing rhythm, presence, and trust. I am so honored to have made this connection.”

Pt. 3 “Candid” - Most of these shots were taken at Bryson’s apartment, a space that felt both inviting and intimate. I was honored to be welcomed into his sanctuary, and trusted to document it. Here are a few of my favorite moments from that space.

The definition of cool!
I have so much to look forward to in life if this is remotely how cool I can look at 73 years old and still touring.
I remember 2016 walking down the street by glen park station in SF and overhearing him play miles Davis kind of blue on Kalimba in a book store. My whole night was derailed and for the best of reasons.
Peace love and gratitude to the most high.
Peace!
The Man Himself!
Happy I got to meet the mind behind so many great selections and the driving force of a beat culture in need of it!
Peace to @houseshoes
We love it when our friends and buddies come and guest DJ with us at KMHD…but sometimes folks take it too far. Kudos to esperanza spalding for doing her best Bryson Wallace impression, though! (PS we still have your jacket)
