ā€œCleanā€ beauty sounds like a safety standard. But it isn’t a regulated definition. There’s no universal framework that determines what qualifies as ā€œcleanā€ in cosmetics. Brands define it. Retailers define it. Marketing reinforces it. Skin care isn’t about avoiding ā€œchemicals.ā€ It’s about formulation, dose, and stability. Fear-based messaging is simple. Skin biology is not. Understanding the difference changes how you choose products. #nycesthetician #skinofcolor #hyperpigmentation #acnecare

I kept coming back to the same question… What would it look like if people actually understood their skin? Not guessing. Not following trends. Not starting over every few weeks. Just real guidance, based on what your skin actually needs. That’s the idea I can’t shake! #acnehelp #hyperpigmentation #skinofcolor #skincareadvice #nycesthetician nycesthetician

I see this every single day. People dealing with acne and hyperpigmentation, trying everything… and still feeling stuck. At some point, I realized it’s not just about products. It’s about guidance. Most people aren’t failing their skin. They’ve just never been given the right framework to understand it. So I’m starting something. Not just another routine. Not just another recommendation. Something better. I’m documenting the process in real time. Follow along if you’ve ever felt stuck with your skin. #acne #hyperpigmentation #skincare #nycesthetician

Sat with a client last week who hadn’t worn her hair up in two years because of her acne. Another who turned down a promotion because it required being on camera. Another who stopped dating entirely. None of them needed to be told their acne was sexy. They needed someone to actually help them heal. The beauty industry discovering that acne is ā€œhotā€ right now is not progress. It’s a new angle on the same product pitch. And the version of acne they’re celebrating is always conveniently retouched, always on someone who already meets every other conventional beauty standard, and never the kind that leaves hyperpigmentation behind for months or years on deeper skin tones. Treating a painful, chronic condition like a trend is not neutrality. It’s not even positivity. It’s just marketing. The goal was never for your acne to be seen as attractive. The goal was for YOU to be seen, fully, regardless of your skin. There’s a difference. #blackesthetician #melaninskincare #acnespecialist #hyperpigmentation #skinneutrality

if your acne or hyperpigmentation isn’t improving, the problem usually isn’t your skin. it’s your strategy šŸ™ˆ hi, i’m Bryce, a NYS licensed esthetician specializing in inflammatory skin conditions like acne, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and acne scarring, particularly in melanin rich skin. my work is focused on results driven treatments and education so my clients actually understand their skin instead of guessing! you can currently find me at @skinlikethis in Brooklyn where I offer treatments like deep cleansing acne facials, corrective chemical peels, dermaplaning, and customized acne care. i’ll soon be offering laser hair removal and waxing for men! 🄸 if you’ve been struggling with breakouts or stubborn dark spots, i’d love to help you figure out what your skin actually needs. March appointments are now open. Booking link is in my bio. #nycesthetician #brooklynesthetician #acnespecialist #hyperpigmentationtreatment

Healthy skin has pores. Healthy skin has texture!! Healthy skin reflects light differently depending on hydration, barrier function, and environment. What we often see online is great lighting and high-shine finishes. That’s aesthetic curation, not necessarily structural skin change. Just remember that your skin isn’t failing because it doesn’t look like someone else’s lighting setup. #nycesthetician #skincare #glassskin Let’s normalize what real skin actually looks like.
