I got to sing backup for BTS!!!!!! 😭💜🙌🏾 Over the years I’ve become a huge K-pop fan, and it all started with BTS. Their music and joyous video content were beacons of joy and light for me before, but especially during this pandemic. It’s pretty much common knowledge at this point that they are all kind, gracious, talented, hardworking and very handsome humans…I can’t believe I had the privilege of seeing all those qualities firsthand! And not only were BTS amazing, but so was the production team. The energy from everyone during the shoot was fun, welcoming and positive. Literal dream come true!!!!😭🤩💜 Fun fact: I’ve tried to see BTS in concert 3 times, but each time something got in the way (cancelled bc of pandemic, the ticket site crashed, bad timing). I was so hurt every time it didn’t work out. But by some miracle, I got to actually meet and work with them🤯 That “miracle” was @dedrickbonner , the amazing BGV Director, bringing me onto this project!🙏🏾🙌🏾 I aspired to work with BTS someday in the future, but I never thought “someday” would be so soon. The opportunity presented itself at a point in my life when I was SO ready for it! TIMING. What a week with @enchantedvoicesofficial !👑🦋 It was a whirlwind of music, tulle, magic and kind-hearted people💕 The Princess Proms guides kids (+ people of all ages) into their ✨Princess Era✨— or their Prince/King/Queen/Monarch Era respectively! Guiding the audience to embrace their inner strength, kindness, courage, love and belief within themselves. All of which this cast and creative team have in abundance! It was wonderful to see the creators of this show (@georgimottram , @itsjasminefaulkner , @conwhite14 ) so earnestly embody the values they inspire in their audiences. ✨ USA SPRING TOUR CAST ✨ We’ve been completely swept away by our enchanting American audiences… so we wanted to take a moment and introduce the voices on stage, bringing The Princess Concert world to life this week. Bryce Charles is an LA-based actress and singer, starring in Team Starkid’s Cinderella’s Castle and voicing Dee Dee in Nickelodeon’s Big Nate. Her work spans The Book of Mormon, Netflix, ABC, and session vocals for BTS. Nigel Huckle is an award-winning Australian-American performer, based in New York, whose career spans five continents, from Miss Saigon to West Side Story and Les Misérables. He has toured globally with The TEN Tenors and performs internationally as a concert vocalist. Georgi Mottram is a Classical No.1 charting soprano and Classic Brit Award nominee, praised by ITV as a “Classical Rising Star.” She has performed on world-renowned stages from the London Palladium and Broadway to Windsor Castle, and for audiences of 30 million on Chinese television. Jasmine Faulkner is an internationally acclaimed British-Iranian soprano who performs all over the world from the Pyramids of Egypt to the Paris Opera House and alongside Andrea Bocelli. New Cover & Music Video Alert! 📺💜🎶 @bryce_charles and I time traveled back to the 90s / Early 2000s for this @disneylittlemermaid inspired cover of @brandy & @monicadenise ‘s, “The Boy Is Mine.” 🐠🫧 (You can hear a sneak peek in this post-it just dropped on music platforms today!) I wanted to share a carousel of some stills from the upcoming video- the music video is scheduled to be out on @youtube this weekend! It was a blast making this MerCrew requested & sponsored @patreon music video, and getting to sing and collab with Bryce! Bryce is such an incredible talent. Her voice is phenomenal, and she was my dream Ariel casting for this project-I feel so lucky to collab with her, and so grateful we were able to make this happen! Bryce brings Ariel to life so beautifully, and I love how she styled her 90s/Y2K Ariel look (btw you can also follow her on her cosplay page @bryce.cosplays !) I was so excited to play Vanessa (Ursula) for this one-I love a baddie! I can’t wait for you to see the video we made! 📼 🎵 Our cover (produced by @kurthunter ) just dropped in music stores, so if you’d like to stream it before the video release, you should be able to find it anywhere you listen to music. This song cover and concept came from one of my wonderful longtime #MerCrew members, Amy ( @blueer0se ) Amy chose “The Boy Is Mine” as her video reward, and she def inspired me when she asked if we could have Ariel & Vanessa sing it together! 🧜🏾‍♀️🐙 The concept is a little mermaid 90s mashup with a nod to Brandy & Monica’s iconic music video from 1998. This project was so nostalgic for me (I grew up in this era! I remember singing along to this song on the radio as kid, and wearing outfits just like this as a teenager!) Bryce & I took inspo both from Brandy & Monica in their video for our outfits & styling, along with other artists we love that came up in that era, like @xtina (for my Vanessa look) and Aaliyah (for Bryce’s Ariel).
