Was busy all day, so I’m a few hours late, but today/yesterday was my wonderful and amazing wife’s birthday. Amy is the most genuinely bright and uplifting person I know. She is compassionate, encouraging, caring, and all from amid chronic pain and constant physical ailments. She has taught me to never to take any facet of health for granted, and how to give glory to God for His strength and providence even when life is difficult. I look up to her and admire her spirit, tenacity, and heart for God and for others. I am completely unworthy of her, but somehow she chose to be with me. I love you beyond words, Amy.

A few weeks ago, I started wondering what it would be like if I shaved my head down to the scalp. I never expected to make a statement with it, nor did I expect it to look good. I was just curious, since I’ve never done it. I figured since I’ve had no work and we’re in perpetual lockdowns, now is as good a time as any. Here are three things I’ve learned from shaving the side of my head: 1.) It takes significantly more time and effort than it would seem. 2.) Rather than feeling more sensitive, my bare scalp feels kinda numb. 3.) My weirdly shaped head is WAY weirder than I had previously thought. Now that I have sated my curiosity at the minor expense of looking like a nut, I come away with a greater respect to all men (and an incalculably minor fraction of women) who shave their heads on a regular basis. My hair’s off to you.
More music born of quarantimes. Lately I’ve been trying to concentrate on remaining thankful despite things going crazy around us. Seven years of wedded bliss. Are we officially past the “first few years” yet? It’s often said that the first few years of marriage are the hardest, but in complete honesty, being married has only made life easier. @amytreadwelltoy is the most encouraging and supportive wife I could ever imagine and my life is better in every way because of her.
