Seniors at @bisd_bchs received their official college T-shirts this afternoon at the 15th annual College Colors Day! The annual tradition celebrates all the seniors have accomplished this year and the colleges, universities and technical schools they will be attending in the fall. The stands of the Bryan Collegiate gym were filled with family members, friends, and classmates there to cheer on the seniors as they received graduation cords and stoles, along with their new collegiate wear. As a group, the Bryan Collegiate class of 2026 earned more than 350 acceptances to colleges and universities across Texas and the country and contributed more than 14,800 hours of community service in the area! A total of 54 soon-to-be-graduates were recognized as being "core complete" by Blinn College and 28 received a diploma frame in recognition of completing the requirements to earn their associate's degree from Blinn College. Congratulations to the Class of 2026! The celebrations will continue next week at the Bryan Collegiate graduation ceremony on Friday, May 22 at 6 p.m. at Texas A&M's Rudder Auditorium. We look forward to seeing all that the Class of 2026 will accomplish in the years to come!

It is with great honor that Bryan ISD celebrates the retirement of Bryan High School in Bryan ISD’s beloved Coach Rose Gregg after an incredible 60 years of service to public education. Generations of Bryan High School students know Coach Gregg not only as a coach and educator, but as a mentor, role model, and lasting part of the Viking tradition. Her commitment, passion, and impact have touched thousands of lives over the years, leaving a legacy that will continue for generations to come. Thank you, Coach Gregg, for six decades of dedication to Bryan ISD and the Bryan High School community. Once a Viking, always a Viking! Thank you, Coach Gregg!

Congratulations to @bryan_high_school English teacher Cynthia Dominguez, who was recognized by the @givejoyfoundation with the Joy of Teaching Award today! The award recognizes educators who embody and promote quality teaching, demonstrate a commitment to professional excellence, promote innovating learning opportunities, inspire students and parents, and help grow the teaching profession. Ms. Dominguez was nominated by her peers and students to receive the award. One of her nominators said, "Seeing her volunteer alongside the @bisd_ambassador (program) and @habitatbcs taught me that leadership isn't just talking about change. It's working for it. She showed me what it means to care, to give, and to lead with purpose, and I will carry that lesson with me forever." With this recognition, Ms. Dominguez received a certificate, a new plant for her classroom, and an all-inclusive Caribbean vacation! Congratulations, Ms. Dominguez, and thank you for all you do! We are proud to help recognize her hard work and dedication and are grateful to partner with such great organizations as the GiveJoy Foundation! #WeAreBryanISD

What does leadership mean to you? We have reached the halfway point of May, the second month of Bryan ISD's Essential 8 month of LEADERSHIP. Check out what a few of our students said that "leadership" meant to them! Take a look at the bottom right corner of each picture to see one of the eight Kids of Character. Created by the Viking Graphics and Animation (VGA) Club at Bryan High School in Bryan ISD, each of the students at the fictional Lester B. Banks Elementary School were created to personify the Essential Eight character traits. Each character comes from a different culture. Boris, the Leader Wolf, represents Eastern Europe. Learn more about Boris here: https://5il.co/3pyj1 Shout out to the following students from Branch Elementary in Bryan ISD for sharing what leadership meant to them: Aaliyah Fajardo, Claude Curtis, Luke Dugue, Remi Heath, and Sofia Moctezuma

Tradition came to life at Houston Elementary in Bryan ISD this morning as students transformed into “Living Statues” portraying notable figures from history and influential people of today. Each student memorized and shared historical facts and fascinating details about the person they represented whenever visitors stopped by their display. Parents, staff, and fellow students filled the hallways for an unforgettable walk through history brought to life by the creativity and hard work of Houston Elementary students.
