In 2009 we set out to build an impossible construction in the middle of the Atlantic rainforest of Brazil. Sort of a wooden masterpiece really. It took us 3 years to build (our own ’Fitzcarraldo’) until this one of a kind ‚treehouse‘ was actually finished. We sourced old used ‚demolition wood‘ which then a local carpenter and his crew put together. Not one single crane was used - all pure handmade craftsmanship.
The KA BRU Forest opened in 2012 and laid the foundation of what would become KA BRU Brazil which now operates two Boutique hotels on the peninsula de Marau in Bahia (KA BRU Beach & KA BRU 1100) as well as two villas in Itacaré (KA BRU Forest & KA BRU River). Welcoming guests from all around the world.
