a VERY fine shredding! A cool posse of people turned up, as the sun went down, to shred Luxon’s pixelated mug and “infamous” inflammatory quotes [in the guise of type specimen posters by @studiocatherine first shredded as rubbish collected for the exhibition ‘Checkmate’ @commode_commode ]. A big mihi to friends, strangers and passers-by who were able to join in the activation, shredding LIGHT on the subject. We had a blast.
And to @lelajacobs , @thekeep__ , @annabella_sbel , @bruceconnew , and @jinkic whose deep dive documentation of the activation will soon be out, for making this happen on the street and in public❤️🔥❤️🔥
Meanwhile a few snaps for the mo, spread the love with friends, whānau, anyone and everyone ——> register to VOTE and dismantle this vile coalition!!

.. when I mail out ‘Body of Work’ (Vapour Momenta Books, 2015), I wrap the book in one of two left-over A1-sized posters, designed by @studiocatherine , from my 2002 exhibition ‘Press Escape to Cancel’ from work in Kosova, June 1999 .. some have left the package wrapped and not seen the book (!!!), some have unwrapped and seen the book and kept the folded posters, while @adjacent.means has collected the folded wrapping and archived it, whew! 🙏
.. peep at their Instagram, fascinating
.. a likely bunch, when we were very young, Waitangi, February 1985

.. @oliver.connew and @warvariations , yesterday, waiting modestly for ice creams at @village_co_op , Te Pane o Horoiwi Saint Heliers before the airport.
They have been at Karekare, Tāmaki Makaurau for @studiocatherine ’s notable birthday, home these days from a long stint in Berlin, and heading back to Ōtepōti Dunedin after a brief, sunny few days swimming in the buff on Waiheke! They spotted writer Lloyd J, a friend from way back, also swimming in the buff. 😲
And behind them, a super collection of small Polaroids of dogs, some with their owners. Who took them?
Before fascist Trump and his vile cohorts (and other US presidents and their vile cohorts), held this line tight to their cold hearts, Aotearoa New Zealand had already celebrated a brutal colonisation that continued after the colonial wars (1845-1872) and the raupatu land confiscations (18,000 British troops at peak), through tricky and punitive government legislation, which continues unabated today.
Our current government in Aotearoa supports both the Zionist entity and US, and continues to permit IOF genocide killers with holiday visas to enter Aotearoa.
This memorial, which every now and then is defaced, stands opposite Whitaker Place on Symonds Street, Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland.
Here is the text on the 1920 memorial erected by the Victoria League:
‘In memory of the brave men belonging to the Imperial and and colonial forces and the friendly Maoris who gave their lives for the country during the New Zealand Wars 1845-1872.’ “THROUGH WAR THEY WON THE PEACE WE KNOW.”
This is the final image work from the book and exhibition ‘A Vocabulary’, a vocabulary of colonisation .. the exhibition ended mid-November 2025 at Te Puna Mātauranga o Aotearoa the National Library of New Zealand, after a well-supported long run.
While the book is now out of print, I’ll gladly email a free-to-go .pdf of the book to those who might find it useful .. direct message me with your email🚩
Final days of ‘A Vocabulary’ at the National Library, Te Whanganui-a-Tara, the exhibition ends this Saturday, 15 November. Seven venues, end of the road maybe.
The book sold out yonks ago, but leave your email at the National Library reception, and I’ll gladly send you a free-to-go .pdf of the book, not quite the heft and materiality of the real thing, but the content is complete.
Some of those across the road in Parliament could benefit from a refresh of the brutal colonisation and raupatu land confiscation of Aotearoa New Zealand by a British army followed by a settler colonial constabulary and militias, not to mention legislation, as pernicious colonisation continues.
Thank you so much @creativenz for your wholesale support of this project and its many outcomes.

The ‘Stitch for Palestine’ whānau and friends floating the keffiyeh flag over Karekare beach today .. a generous, warm and poignant activation against the genocide in Gaza, against apartheid, against occupation, free Palestine 🇵🇸
@doritahannah
.. a couple of photos de moi, 📸 @studiocatherine , during the buzzing Makers Market last weekend, @goodform_design , Tāmaki Makaurau, Catherine’s GAZ/A print fundraiser and book work on the wall and table, and her Dilana keyhole rug from the phone numbers project, another iteration of which hangs in the window .. all this as Trump’s sham of a dire, colonial, ‘peace’ plan makes ground, a woeful moment .. one state, Palestine 🇵🇸 .. liberation, sovereignty, end apartheid, end occupation.
