SixTwelve’s @612okc annual Scotty Irani Cake Bake Off and Auction is Saturday, April 11th from 10am-12:30pm in the Paseo Arts District @paseoartsdistrict ! Twenty-five bakers will produce their best cakes, cupcakes, and brownies from scratch. This year YOU can buy a ticket to be a guest judge to taste and rank the entries, along with the celebrity judges! The delicious sweets will be auctioned to support SixTwelve’s creative community programming. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of both the professional and community choice categories. There’s so much to share, it’s hard to know where to begin. But Kelsey’s wedding feels like the perfect place to start.
Kelsey—and her sister Taylor—have been part of my cake journey for years. Their milestones have become woven into the fabric of my own story: birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and sweet new additions to the family. It’s more than just cake. It’s connection. It’s the kind of bond that grows through handwritten notes, quick check-ins, and the joy of sharing extra treats after a long week.
Running a small bakery gives you a front-row seat to some of life’s most meaningful celebrations—and that, to me, is the greatest gift of all.
Kelsey’s wedding cake was the final delivery in a whirlwind week, and somehow it became the exclamation point to it all. As I placed the last finishing touch on-site, the sun came through the windows just right, the floral arrangements sang, and the table linen couldn’t have been more perfectly chosen. It was one of those rare, quiet moments where everything aligns. And then I looked up—and there was Kelsey. Radiant in her gown, surrounded by love.
That moment will live in my memory forever.
