All this shit happened so quickly. Life last year was a shift here, a shift there, being sent home early or start later, a pop up here & a collaboration there. I didn’t feel inspired, I felt dumb not knowing about food trends. I actually hated cooking, like I’m almost 40 & I’m getting told I’m too slow every week. I quit everything & ran away to Fiji, I returned with no job & no clue what was gonna happen. I went to Bar Oussou one night for a drink & met the owner, he needed a chef to start in 2 days. My prayers were answered, I knew then & there that I had to bring Munchies back. Suddenly everything aligned, the feeling that I had been searching for this whole time… Freedom. Freedom to cook for the hood again & not bloggers, freedom to provide a type of hospitality that isn’t driven by money but by love, a safe space for the poor & rich to eat together & most importantly, freedom to give my daughter (aka my business partner) a beautiful life. Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far. 🇫🇯🌺💕

Grateful to still be running through these streets tryna make it happen with a Chefs Knife, a Waiters Friend and a princess by my side.
It’s been nice to prioritise health, rest and creativity. Listening to my heart and my body to find balance over the past six months, more books and records, less TV and social media. More water, less Cognac. More breathing and stretching. Less worrying and more action.
Our house is finally feeling like a home filled with lots of beautiful memories, so many incredible people have sat at our dining table. We’re living small but we always try to live well. Three courses with a drink always. Nice plates and glassware always.
I’m really grateful for all the little things. Good bread, good wine, our own home, a good job, a family, a healthy child, great friends, clean clothes, a warm bed. Everything else is a bonus. 🙏🏾❤️💯
