This past Sunday, we hosted our 2023 VIP Reception, an event that brought together esteemed individuals who have been instrumental in our progress. It was a meaningful occasion where we welcomed new board members and took the time to acknowledge the exceptional support received from community members like 3rd Ward Alderman Pat Dowell. In recognition of her unwavering commitment to both this project and our community, she was honored with the prestigious Oscar Depriest Award. Thank you for all the love and support, Alderman Dowell!

Even though @chicagosmayor couldn’t make it out to our community luncheon last Thursday, she sent us an encouraging video not only offering the support of the city but also letting us know that the City of Chicago will be donating $250k to making #Bronzevilletrail a reality. Thank you to Mayor Lightfoot and the City of Chicago!

Good food was consumed and valuable information shared during our Pastor's breakfast at @truthitalian . This grassroots project intends to bring transformative change to the #Bronzeville community. That's why we turned to our religious community leaders, not just for support, but to explain how this trail will positively impact members of their congregations. We could not be more thankful to all who attended and took the time to learn more about who the Bronzeville Trail Task Force is and the historic project we are looking to bring to Bronzeville. From Federal st. to Lake Park ave. the Bronzeville Trail will be approximately 1.7 miles long. Think about all of the of murals, gardens, and interactive installations! We’re excited about it too. In the meantime check out this map detailing exactly where the trail will run through #Bronzeville. 👉🏾 Wanna learn more about the Bronzeville Trail Project? Hit the link in our bio now. ❤️👩🏼‍🦽🏃🏾🚴🏽‍♀️

Our vision of the Bronzeville Trail represents so much to the community, but one of the most essential things this trail represents is inclusivity. A path for all. So we needed a logo that represents that. ❤️👩🏼‍🦽🏃🏾🚴🏽‍♀️

Last month we celebrated Trails Day 2022 and the event was outstanding! The show of support for the Bronzeville Trail was amazing. We want to thank the Bronzeville Trail Task Force community for your generosity and support as we raised funds and received in-kind donations for the proposed recreational greenway. Our Founder, John Adams and Chair, Walter Freeman, led the event with tenacity and incredible resolve for this multi-year project. Over 100 neighbors, community advocates and trail enthusiasts walked the Bronzeville Trail from 41st and Drexel and ended at the Williams-Davis Park for a rally where elected officials including Alderwomen Sophia King (4th), Pat Dowell (3rd) and Cook County Commissioner Bill Lowry shared their support. It was a beautiful day filled with prayer, fitness, community clean up and celebration of all trails, and the historical and current significance of the Bronzeville Trail! Your support ensured that the inaugural Celebrate Trails Day 2022 at the Bronzeville Trail was an overwhelming success.
