Parades of empty Waymo vehicles repeatedly circled an Atlanta neighborhood over several days in early May, perplexing and annoying residents.
Footage shot by local resident Andrea Brown Milheizler over May 9, 10, and 13, shows a multitude of Waymo’s self-driving cars driving down her street and circling a cul-de-sac.
Milheizler said she and her neighbors put out a traffic device “to stop the flood of cars that was coming,” which caused the vehicles to become “confused” and block each other as they tried to turn around.
One local estimated that 50 cars drove through the neighborhood in a single morning, according to WSBTV.
Waymo issued a statement said it had “already addressed this routing behavior,” WSBTV reported.
A driver launched his vehicle off an embankment – flying over another car – while fleeing from police in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, on May 9.
According to local news reports, the driver, identified by authorities as Dewayne Stokes, was wanted for a felony warrant and fled from Wisconsin State Police during a traffic stop.
Dashcam video from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office shows the chase down Pioneer Road, which culminated in a high-flying jump over another vehicle and crash-landing into a small field, after which the suspect tried to escape on foot.
A sheriff’s deputy deployed a Taser to take down Stokes and he was arrested.
Stokes was charged with fleeing/eluding, first-degree recklessly endangering safety, felony bail jumping, and resisting/obstructing an officer, according to the sheriff’s office.
A small dog was caught on camera shamelessly stealing a man’s meal from off his front porch in Nashville on May 6.
Home security camera footage posted by Sydnei Everett shows the small dog walking up to Everett’s grandfather’s front porch in Nashville, Tennessee, where his Uber Eats meal had just been delivered.
Everett told Storyful that after his food had been dropped off, he got a second notification that someone was at his front door. When he looked to see who it was, he saw the small dog trotting away with his food.
Everett said that the delivery driver ended up tracking down the dog and bringing the food back to the porch.
