Aditi was awarded the Broadcom Coding with Commitment® prize at the Metropolitan Detroit science and engineering fair by foundation president Paula Golden and CFO Maria Wronski. Aditi deployed a rain sensor that interfaced with a Raspberry Pi to create a clothes line-drying system that detects and responds to protect laundry upon a sudden rainfall. Over 85% of the global population line-dries their clothes, which is an eco-friendly approach to this household chore. Aditi was inspired to make this efficient and safety- oriented system to save her grandparents in Karnataka, India, from racing up steps to pull laundry in a sudden downpour. This project meets the criteria of this award and aligns with several of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, such as protection of the Earth, reducing energy and improving quality of life. @sefmd #BroadcomCodingwithCommitment #STEM #Coding
