[ MUST VISIT ] Queensland’s Highest Rooftop Bar Is a must visit if you’re chasing a sunset view šŸŒ‡šŸø If you’ve ever wondered what Brisbane looks like from the very top… this is where you’ll find out. Perched high above the river, Sky Deck Brisbane is home to Queensland’s highest rooftop bar, set across a 250-metre suspended runway in the sky. The space stretches out above the city skyline with sweeping views across the river, the Story Bridge and beyond, making it one of the most impressive vantage points in Brisbane right now. But it’s more than just a lookout. The Sky Deck features three different venues, plenty of spots to settle in with a drink, and a glass-floor viewing platform if you’re brave enough to look straight down. 😰 It’s all part of the massive $3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf Brisbane development, which has transformed the riverfront into one of the city’s biggest entertainment precincts. šŸ“ Sky Deck is located within the Queen’s Wharf Precinct. [ PROPERTY ] THE IMPOSSIBLE TOWER THAT REDEFINED BRISBANE’S LUXURY RIVERFRONT WAS ALMOST NEVER FINISHED Australia’s first 6 Star Green Star residential building, this 47-storey tower was nearly lost to construction failure before Hutchinson Builders stepped in to save it. As the first major standalone Australian project by Singapore’s world-renowned @woha_architects , it’s designed to literally ā€œbreatheā€, using an open-frame structure that prioritises natural ventilation and vertical greenery. It now serves as the primary case study for Brisbane City Council’s ā€œBuildings That Breatheā€ guidelines. THE TURBULENT HISTORY šŸ“‰ The project was nearly abandoned mid-construction when original builder Probuild collapsed, leaving over $120 million in losses. šŸ—ļø Despite the setbacks, Hutchinson Builders stepped in to finish the job and the completed tower is now a global award-winner and masterpiece of engineering. REVOLUTIONARY DESIGN šŸŒ¬ļø Every lobby is open-air and the car park is naturally ventilated with no fans or ducts, a first for a residential tower of this scale in Australia. 🌿 The tower’s greenery delivers double the vegetation the original empty site ever had. THE AMENITIES šŸŠ A 25-metre riverside saltwater pool 🧘 Gymnasium, yoga terrace, private outdoor cabanas and communal BBQ surrounded by manicured gardens šŸ½ļø Supernormal and Bar Miette at the base of the building GOOD TO KNOW • The car park sits higher than many surrounding penthouses, with million-dollar views and natural airflow instead of the usual dark basement feel. • Its 6 Star Green Star rating means significantly lower environmental impact than traditional glass-wrapped skyscrapers. • The design uses biomimicry to handle Brisbane’s intense sun while harvesting river breezes to cool the interior. šŸ“ 443 Queen Street, Brisbane City Developer: @cbusproperty Would you live here? [ MUST TRY ] THIS GIANT MEXICAN FEAST SERVED IN A VOLCANIC ROCK IS THE ULTIMATE SHARE DISH We found a massive Mexican share dish in South Bank that is literally bubbling when it hits the table. It’s served in a traditional *molcajete -* a heavy mortar and pestle carved from volcanic rock that is specifically designed to retain intense heat. This means your steak, prawns, and grilled chorizo stay sizzling in a pool of spicy tomato chilli and melted cheese from the first bite to the last. THE VOLCANIC FEAST - šŸŒ‹ The Molcajete: A massive volcanic rock overflowing with prawns, octopus, steak, and grilled chorizo. - šŸ”„ The Flavours: It’s loaded with fresh avocado, cheese, and a spicy tomato chilli sauce that bubbles right at the table. - 🌮 The Sides: Served with a stack of warm tortillas so you can build your own tacos as you go. FOR THE TABLE - 🄭 Margarita Towers: If you’re with a crew, their huge chilled mango margarita share towers are a non-negotiable—they’re as refreshing as they are photogenic. GOOD TO KNOW - The Molcajete is a serious commitment - it’s designed to be shared, so don’t try to tackle this one solo. - Be careful with the mortar itself; because it’s authentic volcanic rock, it holds heat for a long time, which is great for your steak but less great for your fingertips! - Located right in the heart of the South Bank dining precinct, it’s the perfect spot for a lively Friday night that inevitably turns into a margarita session. šŸ“ @pocamadre.bne is located at 14 Little Stanley St in South Bank Who are you taking with you? šŸ¹šŸŒ®
