Pressed-moulded plates I designed and made for @evernight_ldn , it isn’t a technique I usually use but I have thoroughly enjoyed making these plates. Due to how much these plates are being handled during the making process, there are slightly more changes in each and every finished piece compared to slip-casting (a process I normally use). These differences in each piece is something that used to bother me a lot but I have fully embraced it this time, it was actually rather meditative and calming when making these.

Next Sunday 22nd August from 11 am - 6 pm, @dlimstudio and I will be selling our work at the @oasisfarmwaterloo Discovery Weekend Maker’s market with @mudgang_pottery .
This is going to be our first ever market and a great opportunity to see our work in its flesh and bones.

In July I’ve had the pleasure of working with @studio_minerva and wine/spirits brand @portenoirebrands to produce 150 pie whistles for their collaboration with the restaurant @bobbobricard .
These pie whistles were slip-casted with stoneware slip and finished with a glossy black glaze. Each pie whistle has two decal logos on each side featuring their collaboration.

Unpacked a successful glaze kiln on Monday full of @plumandorange pieces ☺️
When I put a glaze kiln on there is always a small worry of how the pieces would come out because at this point I’ve invested so much time and effort in them. The glaze firing literally makes or breaks the pieces!

For the past year, I’ve been working with @yijing_illustration on combining our skills of ceramics and illustrations.
YiJing and I met through @shanghaisupper club. Both seeking for familiar flavours from back home, we had the pleasure of being seated next to each other. It was like fate, as we both happened to have graduated from @unioftheartslondon
This unlikely friendship then blossomed and brought us plum and orange, which actually represents our surnames in Chinese. Plum for Li (李) and orange for Chan (陳).
