A dream come true seeing Severed Heads play in Eora last month! I then wrote a piece about them for @thequietus and interviewed legend Tom Ellard. Such a humble, funny and clever man. The Clifton Hill Community Music Centre has been a constant source of admiration for Synthesize Me since the shows inception. A groundbreaking hub for artists which emerged in 1976 by founders Ron Nagorcka and Warren Burt. Based in an old organ factory in the inner-north, it became a space for experimentation in music, sound and other temporal art forms. This Friday and Saturday, Liquid Architecture and the artist and coordinator of the centre David Chesworth have curated “We Called It New Music”, featuring performances reflecting on the past, present and future of the legacy of the space. One absolutely not to be missed with tickets still available! On tonights show we have dug up a few never before heard interviews that we have collected over the years with the centres most important frequenters - Jane Joyce, John Crawford and Ros Bandt. We are indebted to many figures from the scene at the time and other enthusiasts that have passionately archived and published the history of the CHCCMC.
