Derbal Yerrigan [SOLD OUT]
Kindred Spirits is a casual dance affair soundtracked lovingly by buddies. Long weekend, long dance, long lasting friendships. For this edition, we set sail across the Derbal Yerrigan (Swan River) for a 4 hour cruise departing Barrack Street Jetty and arriving at East Street Jetty.
Helmed by Montana (Skylab Radio, Radio Temponara) & Nape, Kindred Spirits is pleased to welcome interstate guests Naarm/Melbourne’s Bridget Small & Nick Ure. Their shared approach is intuitive, drawing from shelves of well-loved records that drift between understated guitar music, chuggy electronics and off-centre dance floor moments. Their shared musical palette can be heard together as hosts on Good Morning Skylab, as well as Bridget’s residencies on PBS & NTS, and Nick’s record label Southern Exposure Records. Their sets feel like a shared conversation that is cohesive but for listeners as much as dancers.
Licensed Venue, No BYO, Strictly 18+ (Patrons Under 18 Not Permitted), Wheelchair Accessible, Standing
PS: This show is almost sold out!
Kindred Spirits returns to the Bird courtyard for an arvo -> night dance. Welcoming all friends for a post New Years simmer wind down (or wind up?) A casual dance affair to discuss your 2026 resolutions & realisations, soundtracked lovingly by buddies.
Welcoming DJ Earl Grey back to the bird courtyard for a 4 (!) hour set. Many Boorloo people might remember the Easter Monday affair in 2021 where Nik & Monty played an extended b2b together in the courtyard for Okie Dokie, the beginning of a new friendship and shared love in all things music and silly jokes. We are thrilled to have Nik back west :) Hopefully igniting new friendships and connections.
Joining the day of music we also have dear friends Paid Actors. Originally from Boorloo, now living in Naarm.
& Kindred Spirits hosts Nape & Montana.
We would like to acknowledge that this event is happening on Whadjuk Boodja and pay our respects to elders past, present, an emerging.

Personal Space Ep. 3 w/ Nape | 09/07/2025 | 10am WST
Beloved in both the Boorloo and Walyalup music scenes, frequent gig attender, musician & DJ, Personal Space contributor Nape (@_ryley___ ) takes us on an intimate musical voyage.
His entry into their residency is a two part collection of music inspired by liminal spaces and ones inspired by his nearest and dearest; a love letter to his interior life

Sending out a signal to all kindred spirits up for a little hot cross fun for a day to night dance on Easter Sunday in the sun filled Bird courtyard. Lapping up those last little moments of warmth in the sun.
Music all afternoon and night by some of our dearest buddies and favourite DJ’s.
It also doubles as Ryleys birthday eve & the beginning of taurus season so even the more reason to celebrate. (Yes we are both Taurus’). All kinds of music, all kinds of joy.

We acknowledge the Whadjuk people of Noongar Boodjar and the space in which this dance will take place. Knowing this was never our land and we are visitors. We pay our upmost respects to the elders, past & present. Those who have and continue to care for this beautiful place we are fortunate to call home. Always was, always will be, Aboriginal Land. Sovereignty never ceded.
