At a time where Nigeria stands at the brink of history, the National Strategic Advocacy Committee on the Special Seats Bill came together with one united voice, to speak from the heart and to appeal to our Honourable Members of the House of Representatives. This is not just another advocacy moment; it is a sincere call to secure a better future for every Nigerian woman whose voice has too often been absent at the decision-making table. Our appeal is directed to the lawmakers of the 10th Assembly, even as our voices align with that of the Honourable Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, PhD, GCON, who has consistently emphasized that the Special Seats Bill is not just a law, it is an opportunity to build a stronger, more progressive, and more inclusive Nigeria. Leaders from different spheres of influence have come together because we believe deeply in what Nigeria can become. We believe in a future where women are not sidelined but empowered; where our daughters grow up knowing they belong at every table where decisions about their lives are made. And as we make this heartfelt appeal, we say this with sincerity: This appeal reflects the heart of your constituents, your followers, your sisters, your daughters, your wives, your mothers, and your friends. And so we say again: “To our dear, forward-thinking, progressive lawmakers; this Bill is a gift to your daughters, your wives, your mothers, and every Nigerian woman. Passing it is passing hope into our future.” 🎥 Directed by me cc: @speakerabbas @kafilatogbara @officialbenkalu #SpecialSeatsBill #SpecialSeatsforWomenBill

Today, we celebrate the Champion of women’s inclusion, an icon far more than a figure in Nigeria’s political landscape. We celebrate a woman of courage and conviction, one who has defied limitations, challenged the status quo, and carved a path where many thought none existed. Through resilience and determination, you have become a formidable and consistent voice for women across the nation. You embody strength in its purest form. As a mother, a leader, and a trailblazer, you carry the hopes of many and continue to inspire a new generation of women to rise, to lead, and to believe in their place at every table. Your life reflects sacrifice, vision, and a deep commitment to inclusion, justice, and progress. Your impact goes beyond politics. It is seen in the lives you have touched, the doors you have opened, and the bold conversations you have inspired. You have not only represented women, you have amplified their voices and strengthened their presence in spaces where they were once overlooked. Today, we celebrate your strides, your passion, and your unwavering dedication to a better and more inclusive Nigeria. Today Nigeria stands at a turning point. For the first time since the Special Seats Bill was introduced, we have the highest-level advocacy it deserves. We have a President who has thrown his weight behind women’s inclusion, a gender-focused Speaker, and a First Lady who has tirelessly championed our cause. This is a defining moment for me and for countless Nigerian women. our voices have beenheard, and I am hopeful the Special Seats Bill will pass. My deepest thanks to the Deputy Speaker Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu who reintroduced and sponsored this bill and to my boss and father @speakerabbas for championing it personally. To @kafilatogbara my love and my chairman, your passion and dependable leadership have taken this advocacy far, thank you for being a dependable ally. To the extraordinary men and women of the Speaker’s Special Seats Bill advocacy Committee, your hard work, commitment, and courage have made this moment possible. This video is a reminder that we are visible. We are heard. Now we must translate this visibility into law. The advocacy continues 🙌🏼 Good luck to us. #SpecialSeatsBill @officialasiwajubat @officialoluremitinubu @speakerabbas @kafilatogbara

Yesterday, 11 March, at the IPU Annual Parliamentary Meeting and the 70th session of the Commission on the Status of Women at UN Headquarters, our chairman @kafilatogabara delivered a compelling address calling for urgent action on the Special Seats Bill. She emphasized that achieving gender parity in our legislative bodies is not merely a symbolic goal but a practical necessity for stronger, more inclusive governance. By guaranteeing seats for women, the Bill would help correct historical imbalances, ensure diverse perspectives in lawmaking, and improve policy outcomes across health, education, economic opportunity, and social protection. @kafilatogabara highlighted that representation matters: when women are present at the decision‑making table, legislation better reflects the needs of families, communities, and marginalized groups. She also underscored the importance of pairing quota measures with sustained investment in capacity building, mentorship, and resources so that women elected through special seats can participate effectively and hold officeholders accountable. Implementation, monitoring, and cross‑party collaboration were identified as essential to translate legal provisions into real change. Calling on parliamentarians, civil society, and international partners, she urged coordinated support for both the passage and practical enforcement of the Bill, including data collection and transparent reporting mechanisms. #specialseatsbill #CSW70 Cc: @yetunde_gold @speakerabbas

Yesterday at the Ford Foundation event on “Plural Justice Systems” What Justice Works for Women and Girls. #CSW70, an attendee raised an important recommendation: that a Gender Desk should be established in the National Assembly. Professor Joy Ezielo recognized my presence and invited me to respond. I stood up, proud, knowing that this was already a reality we had worked hard to achieve. My boss @speakerabbas the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD, GCON, through his Bridge Her Gap Initiative @bridgehergap_ graciously established a Gender Desk directly in front of the Chamber of the House of Representatives on November 20, 2025. This Gender Desk is the first of its kind, and I remain deeply grateful to my boss for consistently prioritizing legislation that advances women’s rights and for amplifying the voices of women across Nigeria. One of the contributions I am particularly proud of was helping to build a structure around the desk so that its operations remain consistent and sustainable, with or without me. So yes, the conversation about institutional support for women within our legislative system is important. And I am proud to say that there is already a Gender Desk in the National Assembly, one of the impactful achievements of our office. #Nationalassembly #Specialseatsbill #iwd2026 #CSW70 Fordfoundation Gender

Time and time again, Nigerian women continue to fight for the good of all. Some advocate for inclusion and representation, some advocate for the protection of women against gender based violence but this Amazon @pradazizi continues to champion causes that will not only improve the lives of men and women with disabilities but also to protect their rights and ensure they are included in every decision we make as a nation. I am so proud of the niche Prada carved for herself and I’ll continue to support and cheer her on because she is different. Sending you lots of love babes ❤️

16th February 2026, I proudly joined Nigerian women in a solidarity walk to the National Assembly. Our purpose was to express gratitude to our lawmakers and representatives and to emphasize the urgency of passing the Special Seats Bill. Today, I walked alongside my fellow women not in my official capacity as the Adviser on gender to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, but as a young woman who has faced and continues to face challenges in my career journey. The Special Seats Bill holds immense significance for my generation and the generations to come. It represents a crucial step towards ensuring equitable representation and amplifying women’s voices in our nation’s governance. This movement is deeply personal to me, and I approach it with seriousness and determination. I am hopeful that the 10th National Assembly will pass the bill, renewing our faith and trust in their commitment to progress and equality. As we marched together, I felt the strength and resilience of our collective spirit. We are advocating for a future where every young girl can aspire to leadership without barriers. @bridgehergap_ @yesideolasimbo #SpecialSeatsBill #WomenInLeadership
