“Afterburn is the period of time it takes you after an emotional disturbance, such as anger, fear, guilt, shame, or jealousy, to ‘come down’ and return to a normal baseline emotional state“
Sometimes it’s interesting to zoom out from a body of work and repurpose or recontextualize the commonly found forms and shapes to serve a different objective for the public realm. Here, familiar yet uncropped fragments and elements from the studio now lounge as 2D sculptures that inhabit architectural structures within the framework of a curvaceous and rigid geometric landscape.
Approaching public work feels much different than making a painting, and this mural felt suited for its academic surrounding environment. University District / Brooklyn Ave / Seattle, Wa
