A duo of wonderful humans and friends recently opened @deux.coffee.au , a beautiful speciality cafe AND roastery in the #adelaide CBD. So much passion and work has been poured into this project and it's paid off!
We took home a bag of this classic Colombian and particularly enjoyed it as espresso; no funk, very clean, bright washed coffee, like Colombian of yore. Well worth coming out of creative slumber to give them a shout out! 😂

A choir of coffee awaits us this Christmas season thanks to @19grams.coffee ! 🔔🎶
This is our first ever coffee advent calendar, featuring 24 different coffees from 24 different origins. We've never had a coffee from Zambia, Malawi or the Dominican Republic before, but that's about to change!
While we were provided a preview box, you can pre-order your own over @19gram.coffee after November 1st, which will then be roasted fresh and delivered by December 1st. You can choose between espresso and filter roasts; we chose a filter to get the cleanest sense of each origin's characteristics, but I reckon we'll try a few as espresso given there's 60g of each coffee in each tin!
Massive props also to 19 grams for the vibrant and recyclable packaging, including the airtight tins I plan to repurpose for home roasts!

How'd everyone go this season of @leaderboardcoffee ? What was your favourite coffee? (Shoutout to coffee #8 and #10!)
Let me just say if you though this season was tough, I feel ya. This was without a doubt the toughest season of Leaderboard I've played since we started back in s4! Season 8 is a close second.
Difficult is good though. I play this game primarily to learn about the diversity of coffee and expose myself to varieties, origins and roasters I might not otherwise get (or give) the opportunity to try.
Winning has certainly been a goal too! I'm thrilled to have checked that box, but honestly, it doesn't teach you too much. I'm certain this season's reveals will kick my butt and teach me a *lot*. And that's awesome.
One thing that made this season a little bit unusual was that we were away from home for the entire season, right up until some frantic brewing sessions last night. So while I still had access to all the coffees, good water, a Comandante and an Orea dripper, I didn't have my usual setup or flow at home to brew each coffee.
The difference... was a lot more stark than I expected. Brewing at home last night using a P100 grinder and a few different drippers like a kono resulted in a lot more clarity. They didn't necessarily taste better, but they tasted more familiar/identifiable. The memory recall was there, though it was a little late to have these realisations! Safe to say I was changing my answers repeatedly on the submission form today trying to make all the combinations work and I'm worried I've bungled it entirely. Ah well.
FYI, @leaderboardcoffee , I really like the lack of region questions as I always felt that was either a) complete guess or b) just rewarding the players who did google-fu to find the exact coffee (me, most seasons). I think identifying based on memory recall and collaboration rather than google is the core of the game and the changes this season amplified that!
