So glad to finally announce a project Iāve been working on for over a year now. I am co-editor and a contributor of the published book, itās all about disā¢course.
āitās all about disā¢course provides insight into the experiencesĀ of 11 BAME (Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic) artists from Newcastle University, discussing themes surrounding identity, displacement and navigating predominantly white spaces, amongst other topics. The contributors for this publication range from second yearĀ BAĀ to MFA andĀ their contributionsĀ included essays, prose, poetry and artwork. The main idea, when proposing the publication, was to create a book reflective of the artists involved, not only inĀ terms of its content, but through the way it is written, read and organised. itās all about disā¢course acts as a literary collage ofĀ theĀ experiences, identity, and artistic practicesĀ of the artists involved.ā
The book launches on Thursday, 20th August and I canāt wait to finally share this project with you all. A huge shoutout to every single one of our contributors - we really did something with this book and Iām grateful to have been trusted with sharing your experiences šš½
