Meet Braxton Berrios @braxtonberrios , an NFL veteran heading into his 9th season who has quietly built a portfolio of early-stage investments across consumer, sports, and health and wellness. Berrios has been investing for about eight years, backing startups while continuing his NFL career. His investments include Palm Tree Crew, Better, SipMARGS, Long Drink, GetW, and several restaurant concepts, with millions deployed across early-stage companies. Live from the @floridafunders Venture Summit When evaluating investments, he focuses on the founder, the concept, and whether he personally uses and believes in the product. He frequently co-invests with operators and investors, including Miles Shear and Mikey Hess. Looking ahead, Berrios is exploring the possibility of raising a fund focused on sports, health, and wellness sectors, which he believes are rapidly growing alongside AI. Some of the portfolio companies he is most excited about today include Long Drink, Better, and SipMARGS. His philosophy is simple: get 1% better every day, both on the field and as an investor.

What an incredible week. Went up to Tampa to speak on the business of sports with some amazing people @floridafunders Summit. Then came back down to Miami to ride 100 miles with @dolphinscancerchallenge . All of the money raised goes directly to Sylvester Cancer center here in Miami and this year we surpassed $100 million raised. Oh and we went to Greenstreet too

First day out

This past week I teamed up with @petset_tx to transport over 30 dogs from Houston to Minnesota that were likely to end up on the euthanasia list. Now they’re walking into loving homes with fosters and adoptions waiting thanks to incredible organizations like this one. This holiday season if you’re thinking of fostering, adopting, or even want to give a couple hours of your time I encourage you to visit your local shelter. There’s so many innocent animals that need love and have so much to give back to you. This particular @barc_houston shelter is home to over 400 dogs and cats and is ran by some truly amazing people that give these animals the second chance they deserve.
